"Here, Hold my Brain while I Vote…"

Kelli Jae Baeli Posted on September 17, 2008 by Kelli Jae BaeliSeptember 17, 2008

I sent around an email quoting Eve Ensler, the American playwright, performer, feminist and activist best known for “The Vagina Monologues.” In it, Ensler delineates the many frightening beliefs for which VP candidate Sarah Palin is known. After an exhaustive list that includes Palin’s devout creationism stance (which would include believing that the earth is only 6,000 years old, and evolution is a myth). Ensler elaborates: “Sarah Palin does not believe in evolution. I take this as a metaphor. In her world and the world of Fundamentalists nothing changes or gets better or evolves. She does not believe in global … Continue reading →

Kelli Jae Baeli Posted on September 6, 2008 by Kelli Jae BaeliSeptember 6, 2008

This is a question on a certain type of test. I pose it here, and any who wish to answer, may do so in the comments area below the post….after I get a few answers, I will post the information about what it is and what the answers suggest.. HERE’S THE QUESTION: A woman, while at the funeral of her own mother, met a guy whom she did not know. She thought this guy was amazing. She believed him to be her dream guy so much, that she fell in love with him right there, but never asked for his … Continue reading →

Quotes from Kelli Jae Baeli

"If you close the door to keep bad things out, the good things can't come in."

Politics Quotes

"People feel removed from sexism. 'I'm not a sexist, but I'm not a feminist.' They think there's this fuzzy middle ground. There's no fuzzy middle ground. You either believe that women are people or you don't. It's that simple." (Joss Whedon)

Let me just add that no civilian should be able to purchase or own a weapon of war. So that's not what I'm referring to, here.

I disagree with this trend of saying "It's the guns." A gun is an inanimate object with no will of its own. It's PEOPLE. Religion. Patriarchy. Greed. Ignorance. Entitled white men. No accountability. Mostly, it's 100 million non-voters, & those who elect enablers.
