The First Thanksgiving

Posted on November 24, 2016 by Kelli Jae BaeliSeptember 25, 2017

As we celebrate Thanksgiving, let’s remember that the holiday is based on a lie, and to celebrate it differently. Be thankful for our gifts and blessings, but never forget the true history. Let’s keep the atrocities happening now at Standing Rock in mind. Let’s also remember that unless we are full-blooded Native American, we ARE ALL IMMIGRANTS. The First Thanksgiving It Didn’t Happen That Way Let me begin by stating that thousands of years before the ‘official’ Thanksgiving Day was proclaimed by Governor Winthrop of the Massachusetts Bay Colony in 1637, North American Indigenous people across the continent … Continue reading →

Heavy Cream

Posted on November 12, 2016 by Kelli Jae BaeliAugust 5, 2017

Says right there, it’s heavy. And yet it rises to the top. There are heavy hearts. Heavy minds. But it says right there it’s heavy and yet it rises to the top. Be the cream, my people.  Be. The. Cream. #bethecream Save

Whole Brain Literary Food

Posted on November 12, 2016 by Kelli Jae BaeliJanuary 25, 2018

Recently, I posted a inquiry to my readers, about a publishing aspect of my work. All the responses were encouraging and thought-provoking, but one in particular touched upon some deeper themes. Here it is. TO MY READERS–A QUESTION: As authors, we want to please everyone, but that’s just not possible. For instance, on my newest novella, Saturation Point, I have 4 and 5 star reviews and personal messages and emails that tell me how much they enjoyed the introspective nature of this book, and the characters, but on one review, the reviewer was bored because there wasn’t dialogue on every … Continue reading →

To my readers: Be brave, be strong

Posted on November 11, 2016 by Kelli Jae BaeliSeptember 25, 2017

TO ALL YOU LOVELY READERS: There are formidable challenges ahead of us. This will be hard. So take some time to enjoy nature, to read, as you always do, if you need to get yourself grounded. But then do your part to make things better. If I’ve learned one thing by studying human nature and writing about it all these years, I’ve learned that the human spirit is also formidable. We’ll get through this. Be brave, even when you feel scared. Be strong, even as your hands shake. Smile and hug people. Show love and compassion and resiliency, even … Continue reading →

Quotes from Kelli Jae Baeli

"That's like leaping off a precipice and trying to knit yourself a parachute on the way down."

Politics Quotes

"People feel removed from sexism. 'I'm not a sexist, but I'm not a feminist.' They think there's this fuzzy middle ground. There's no fuzzy middle ground. You either believe that women are people or you don't. It's that simple." (Joss Whedon)

OMG. @SenSchumer has SOMETHING big on #MoscowMitch-he folded. Just as @Maddow was playing clip of Schumer intimating mysteriously that he had this, it was announced it DID. After this, & other things' he's said int he interview tonight, I feel much better about Schumer.

Hi @SenatorSinema I am a Democrat and I support you. I don’t understand why you are unwilling to end the filibuster after six years of being held hostage by the GOP. There are bills that we need to pass that could be stalled out or blocked with the filibuster.

Please explain.
