Kelli Jae Baeli Posted on February 24, 2017 by Kelli Jae BaeliAugust 5, 2017

While I’m battling The Change of Life, we are also dealing with A Change of Life. Major changes on the horizon, all of which we have chosen for ourselves, which of course, makes it easier to weather. Our decision to make homesteading our goal, had to begin with all the preliminaries. Where? When? How? We know we want to settle in central Wisconsin, mostly because Melissa is from that area, and around Chicago, and her family is all there. She needs to be close to her grandmother, who is well into her 90’s and has had some health scares. But Melissa has … Continue reading →

Quotes from Kelli Jae Baeli

"I'm not mysterious. When I have a relationship with anyone, whether platonic or romantic, you will always know what I'm thinking or feeling. If ever you have a question about either, all you have to do is ask me, and I will give you an honest answer. You will always know where you stand with me. The portal of communication will always be open."

Politics Quotes

"People feel removed from sexism. 'I'm not a sexist, but I'm not a feminist.' They think there's this fuzzy middle ground. There's no fuzzy middle ground. You either believe that women are people or you don't. It's that simple." (Joss Whedon)

Quotes for Writers

Why do writers write? Because it isn't there. ~Thomas Berger

Word of the Day

autodidact aw-toh-DIE-dakt A person who has learned a subject without the benefit of a teacher or formal education, a self-taught person.

Favorite Quotes

“Why do you want to shut out of your life any uneasiness, any misery, any depression, since after all you don't know what work these conditions are doing inside you? Why do you want to persecute yourself with the question of where all this is coming from and where it is going? Since you know, after all, that you are in the midst of transitions and you wished for nothing so much as to change. If there is anything unhealthy in your reactions, just bear in mind that sickness is the means by which an organism frees itself from what is alien; so one must simply help it to be sick, to have its whole sickness and to break out with it, since that is the way it gets better.” ~ Rainer Maria Rilke, Letters to a Young Poet

Let me just add that no civilian should be able to purchase or own a weapon of war. So that's not what I'm referring to, here.

I disagree with this trend of saying "It's the guns." A gun is an inanimate object with no will of its own. It's PEOPLE. Religion. Patriarchy. Greed. Ignorance. Entitled white men. No accountability. Mostly, it's 100 million non-voters, & those who elect enablers.
