Hanging the Moon and Lesbian Monikers

Posted on November 3, 2011 by Kelli Jae BaeliMarch 5, 2013

I placed another personal ad on Craigslist. Hopefully this won’t turn into a freak-fest like it did last time. And if it does, well, more material for my writing. LOL. The Ad I used before was way more humorous, but I was afraid it might be overwhelming and make ME look a little crazy. Who knows? Here’s the one I used before: Only seek LOCAL friends & dates. Please & thank you. LDR’s are usually doomed from the start. It’s like being pecked to death by chickens. So not big on them unless you can afford to travel to date … Continue reading →

New Review of ISO

Posted on March 10, 2011 by Kelli Jae BaeliMarch 5, 2013

Another review on my book “ISO (In Search Of): Dating, Relationships & Sex for the Discerning Lesbian”… “Whether you are a ‘baby dyke’, a newly out older woman or someone who has just been away from the ‘dating scene’ for a time, this book is an essential tool in your belt. Not only does Ms. Baeli provide thought provoking answers to all those obvious questions we all have, but you might find some information here about scenarios you had never even considered. Read it cover to cover or jump to the section you’re most interested in, either way you … Continue reading →

My Beginnings

Posted on June 21, 2008 by Kelli Jae BaeliMarch 5, 2013

In my readings about writing, I came across several good points about how the beginning of your book is often the most important part–at least, if you intend to grab the attention of an editor, publisher or agent. I wondered what all my beginnings really looked like…and so I gathered them here for kicks. Would these beginnings make you, as a reader, want to keep reading? I welcome all comments. My beginnings…. The openings (first sentences/paragraphs) of my books. “Sully’s, on South Prospect, was the quintessential biker-bar, complete with hefty, leather-clad Harley worshippers, and stringy-haired heroin-addicted women who made the … Continue reading →

Lesbians: Art Does not Imitate Life

Posted on April 7, 2008 by Kelli Jae BaeliApril 7, 2008

Excerpted from my book,ISO (in Search Of): The Art of Dating, Relationships & Sex for the Discerning Lesbian Any Lesbian who is currently single knows that it’s often a great deal less romantic to be unattached than the media would have us believe. Many of us would love to hang out with the kinds of women we see on the L-Word, yet in the Lesbian Community, this is often not an option. Sophisticated, feminine lesbians are simply not the norm, overall. Most of the actresses who play those roles are in fact, heterosexual. I have frequently been chagrined by this. … Continue reading →
