Furiously Happy:
My brain hungered for humor. Was absolutely famished for fun.

Posted on August 24, 2020 by Kelli Jae BaeliSeptember 11, 2020

I am very picky about the books I read, and it’s hard to find anything that doesn’t either piss me off or bore me. That might just be a product of having been an Indie Author, honing her craft for 30 years, or maybe it’s just me being too damn critical. But I never had problems in my younger years. Like say, my twenties and before. But then, I didn’t write my first book until I was 26. So maybe it really is that being an author affects my ability to enjoy reading other authors that aren’t top-notch. Garbage in, … Continue reading →

Quotes from Kelli Jae Baeli

"I am knee-deep into the process of feeling my own mortality, the tenuous and precious nature of life, and the realization that time is a harsh mistress, I don't want to waste too much time on the superficial or idiosyncratic things. I want to grab the happiness that might be there for me and hold it close because we never know when our lives might end. Recent events delivered that truth home, and let it out at my door."

Politics Quotes

"People feel removed from sexism. 'I'm not a sexist, but I'm not a feminist.' They think there's this fuzzy middle ground. There's no fuzzy middle ground. You either believe that women are people or you don't. It's that simple." (Joss Whedon)

Quotes for Writers

“The writing of a novel is taking life as it already exists, not to report it but to make an object, toward the end that the finished work might contain this life inside it and offer it to the reader. The essence will not be, of course, the same thing as the raw material; it is not even of the same family of things. The novel is something that never was before and will not be again.”

Word of the Day

farragofuh-RAH-goh A confused mixture, hodgepodge, medley.

Favorite Quotes

Christianity. The belief that some cosmic Jewish Zombie can make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically tell him that you accept him as your master, so he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present in humanity because a rib-woman was convinced by a talking snake to eat from a magical tree.
~ No one on the Internet seems to know who said this, but I think it is among the best anti-religion quotes of all time, so whomever is the author, I hope he or she will claim it.

What a speech by National Youth Poet Laureate Amanda Gorman.

Did you know—she even once had a speech impediment as a young child.

Overcoming adversity is what makes us stronger and better in life.

This is the most beautiful moment of my life and one that I would like to share with you all. After 2,737 days locked up in detention – I am free.
Thank you to all of the amazing people who helped me to stay strong.

Jake Tapper@jaketapper

.@GOPLeader McCarthy congratulates Biden and Harris, says he's proud of them.

No acknowledgement that he pushed the Big Lie they didn't win, joined that mendacious TX AG lawsuit, voted to disenfranchise AZ and PA voters based on lies AFTER the terrorist siege.
