What Sally McBurgerflipper Deserves:
Rebuttal To Splenetic Diatribe Against Low Wage Workers

Kelli Jae Baeli Posted on November 17, 2020 by Kelli Jae BaeliNovember 17, 2020

This was originally on a Facebook post in 2014. I thought it needed to be shared on my blog. First, let me say that I am a veteran. I have a lifetime disability compensation due to injuries I suffered while enlisted, and trauma afterward. I joined the Army because I wanted an education, so that I wouldn’t be stuck flipping burgers the rest of my life. I worked at nearly every fast food chain you can name, and in most other service industry segments. I was only able to get an education because of my military disability and being helped … Continue reading →

Colonizing vs. Philosophizing

Kelli Jae Baeli Posted on August 4, 2017 by Kelli Jae BaeliOctober 15, 2018

From blog-idea archives…. On one of those insipid questions sites, someone asked,  “If something happened to Earth, would you move to another planet?” A few underlying fallacies here. First, if something happened to Earth, you wouldn’t have that choice, so the whole construct of that question falls apart at the beginning. Second, this reasoning is like driving your car until it runs out of gas or breaks down, and then shopping for another one, instead of just maintaining the vehicle properly. Third, were we not dependent on fossil fuels, we would not be in a battle against climate change, and … Continue reading →

Thoughts on The Thief of Time by John Boyles

Kelli Jae Baeli Posted on December 23, 2016 by Kelli Jae BaeliAugust 5, 2017

I have missed sitting down with a physical book and reading. My recent decision to take a sabbatical and just allow myself to be creative and deadline-free, had me standing in front of my fiction bookshelf, seeking something new. Something enjoyable. As most of you know by now, I have become quite finicky about my fiction reading. I read so much of my own work in pumping out work in the last ten years, that I have had little time to read for pleasure, and when I do, it’s inevitably just before I go to sleep, and by then, my … Continue reading →

Adventures in Indie Publishing, Incident #227:

Kelli Jae Baeli Posted on August 12, 2014 by Kelli Jae BaeliAugust 12, 2014

Amazon informed me that they pulled my book, Rain Falls, off sale, because they were getting too many complaints from readers about a chunk of missing text in the digital version. I realized immediately what was happening, and I rolled my eyes so hard, I could see my brain. My apparently way-too-clever brain. I made adjustments in the file to accommodate this, and added this note to readers in the front:   SPECIAL NOTE TO READERS Recently, Amazon pulled this book down, because too many readers were complaining about missing text. Apparently, those readers did not understand that the missing … Continue reading →

Along Came a Spider

Kelli Jae Baeli Posted on April 16, 2013 by Kelli Jae BaeliMay 3, 2018

It’s not like I didn’t expect to hear from the usual suspects in regard to my 6-volume book, God on a Stick (An exhaustive investigation into Christianity and why I decided it made no damn sense) formerly titled, Supernatural Hypocrisy: The Cognitive Dissonance of a God Cosmology But even now, I can be surprised by the variations of hubris and ignorance, even among those who claim no religion. My Facebook friend, Jackie LeMerand, posted on her wall that she had just purchased my book, and then, shall we say, Along Came a Spider.   Jackie LaMerand Yesterday at 9:13am · Kelli‘s … Continue reading →

Glaring Errors

Kelli Jae Baeli Posted on March 7, 2013 by Kelli Jae BaeliMarch 7, 2013

This is a wide subject area, but I want to focus on just a few things. As a segue, I have to share this post I came across. I was on a forum where people were posting for help about making money blogging. One poster was frustrated and confused and posted this: “Been using these for over a year and made 2 penies.  How do I earn money on goggle.  It is simply frostrating.  I posted so many adds  on my blog but I have earned no money. what is happening? I have been trying to write all the … Continue reading →

Chicken-Proper

Kelli Jae Baeli Posted on December 26, 2011 by Kelli Jae BaeliMarch 12, 2013

The tendency for some humans to be weak-minded disturbs me sometimes. So often, it is easier to embrace the easy answer of “I don’t know” over the more difficult response, “I don’t know, but I’ll try to find out.” Example: we’ve often heard the alleged conundrum “Which came first, the chicken or the egg?” as if this is some mind-bender of a riddle. It’s not as inexplicable as all that. To wit: from a scientific perspective, at one time, there were no chickens, and chickens appeared in the evolutionary chain because two non-chickens mated, created a zygote (first cell) of … Continue reading →

Ignorance Revealed: Miss USA contestants on Evolution

Kelli Jae Baeli Posted on June 23, 2011 by Kelli Jae BaeliDecember 5, 2011

The mindless regurgitation of these contestants sickens me. Most of these are stunning examples of the ignorance that still prevails in this country. Evolution is NOT a theory, in the colloquial sense. Scientific “theory” is not the same as the common definition of “theory.” That’s why I wish the scientific community would permanently change their references to it in some way, to clear up the misunderstanding. Since colloquial understanding usually RULES among the average person, we must begin to use terminology that leaves no room for erroneous interpretation. It is my contention that you are not entitled to respect or … Continue reading →

The Great Fib

Kelli Jae Baeli Posted on April 22, 2010 by Kelli Jae BaeliMarch 4, 2013

excerpt from  Supernatural Hypocrisy:  The Cognitive Dissonance of a God Cosmology Volume 3: Cosmology of the Bible  by Kelli Jae Baeli The Great Fib There’s a huge hole in the whole Flood drama, because anything that could float or swim got away scot-free, and it was the idea to wipe out everything, He didn’t say, “I will kill everything, except the floating ones and the swimming ones, who will get out due to a loophole. ~ Eddie Izzard The story of the flood is a familiar to most people. A man is instructed by God to build a large boat … Continue reading →

Mind-Bending Esoterica

Kelli Jae Baeli Posted on April 15, 2010 by Kelli Jae BaeliMarch 4, 2013

Open Letter to Spiritual Person Regarding Belief in Supernatural based on several posts on Facebook to my Wall.  First, this subject matter does not lend itself to a sound-byte. That’s why science is often wrongly interpreted as unable to respond to wild claims from believers in the supernatural. Complicated things require complicated explanations. Second, this content is not directed at you, CMorte, exclusively. I will be speaking both toward your comments, and toward the spiritual community at large. Third, yes I was a little harsh.  I will try to keep my anger at bay long enough to explain why I … Continue reading →

From Austin Cline’s atheism and agnosticism site: (13) len says: athiests dont have the intelegnce to understand god or inteligent design. August 30, 2009 at 11:03 am (14) Austin Cline says: athiests dont have the intelegnce to understand god or inteligent design. Funny, but if a god exists then it would be able to make itself known to everyone regardless of “intelegnce.” It would probably also try to ensure that its adherents could spell.

Them Thangs That Hold Up Books

Kelli Jae Baeli Posted on February 25, 2009 by Kelli Jae BaeliFebruary 25, 2009

I’m in Wal-Mart, in the middle of the night, as I often am, when I shop, due to my weird sleep schedule. It’s also easier and faster to shop in the middle of the night because there are no lines. But there are lots of stock-people. I wanted some bookends of the heavy-object variety, rather than the thin metal ones that slide under the books. I had already seen those in the office supply aisle. I stopped one of those stock-guys to ask, “Do you have bookends?” “Book-ins?” he says. Yes a gathering of people in libraries all night with … Continue reading →

The A.I. of Theists:

Kelli Jae Baeli Posted on November 11, 2008 by Kelli Jae BaeliMarch 3, 2013

(Or, “Who’s the Pinhead, Now, O’Reilly?”) [Excerpt from my book, Supernatural Hypocrisy: The Cognitive Dissonance of God Cosmology] THE ARGUMENTS GIVEN BY many theists, especially those of the fundamentalist variety, can be referred to quite accurately as A.I.–Artificial Intelligence, AKA Arrogant Ignorance. Poster boy for this concept? Bill O’ Reilly. On a segment of his show, O’Reilly had Richard Dawkins as a guest, but Dawkins was not treated as such. In his usual, haughty, overbearing, arrogant manner, O’Bully made sure that Dawkins never had a fair opportunity to respond, and it was blatantly apparent that Bill-O had absolutely zero respect … Continue reading →

Quotes from Kelli Jae Baeli

"Irony is alive and well, when you are stranded with a flat tire and your can of fix-a-flat has a hole in it."

Politics Quotes

"People feel removed from sexism. 'I'm not a sexist, but I'm not a feminist.' They think there's this fuzzy middle ground. There's no fuzzy middle ground. You either believe that women are people or you don't. It's that simple." (Joss Whedon)

Favorite Quotes

"In my experience, the amount of offence that the offended takes is commensurate to the amount of respect they have for the offender. I rarely feel offended by opinions, but then again, I rarely respect the opinion or the source of it until I've evaluated it. If it's a bad opinion, I don't lose respect I never had for it. If it's a good opinion, I gain respect for it. At no point does whether or not it's offensive factor into the matter. There is this to say as well; It is important to be discriminating in what opinions one takes seriously, otherwise in short order one finds themselves paying so much attention to the people they should ignore that they end up ignoring the people they ought to be paying attention to." ~Brandon Jones

Let me just add that no civilian should be able to purchase or own a weapon of war. So that's not what I'm referring to, here.

I disagree with this trend of saying "It's the guns." A gun is an inanimate object with no will of its own. It's PEOPLE. Religion. Patriarchy. Greed. Ignorance. Entitled white men. No accountability. Mostly, it's 100 million non-voters, & those who elect enablers.

If I saw that, I'd BUY THEM WHAT THEY NEEDED. for those who can't afford that, look the other way.

Your regular reminder that if you see someone stealing baby formula, nappies, bread, milk, pasta, ready meals, you didn’t see a fucking thing mind your own business and thank god you’re not so desperate for your own or your babies survival that you’d risk a criminal charge for it
