Alien Tummy Tuck

Kelli Jae Baeli Posted on September 12, 2011 by Kelli Jae BaeliSeptember 12, 2011

Just checking my hair. No apparent reason, just throwing a passing glance in the mirror on my way to turn on the shower, and saw some little blemish on my face. Closer inspection revealed nothing of consequence. But then i looked closer in the looking glass…(Alice never had a trip like that through the looking glass) closer…until i could see the pores on my skin, touch the bags under my eyes and saw how loose the skin was….my skin had become loose somewhere along the way. Not the skin of my 20’s,or even 30’s, but the skin of someone growing … Continue reading →

The Truth About Cats & Dogs. And Horses. And Mooses.

Kelli Jae Baeli Posted on February 12, 2008 by Kelli Jae BaeliFebruary 12, 2008

I was talking to my friend who is dating a woman who has lots of horses, and we began discussing all things horse-related. She wanted to know, after hearing a story about her date’s near-trampling, how a horse can just run over you…like they don’t know you’re there… I told her it was like my dog, Giz, when i go to open the door to let him out–if the cats are in his line of trajectory, he just runs right over them…cats know how to tuck and roll, so they never get hurt by it, and he doesn’t do it … Continue reading →

Monster Under the Bed

Kelli Jae Baeli Posted on June 20, 2003 by Kelli Jae BaeliJune 20, 2003

When I was a child, I experienced a common phobia regarding the “creature under the bed”…when getting into bed at night, I’d turn out the light and run across the room, jumping onto the bed, careful not to get my vulnerable, little-girl feet next to the opening beneath it. This was so nothing could grab me. Now that i am an adult, my phobias are much more mature. Now, when i go to the bathroom at night, i always turn the light on so i don’t sit on the toilet in the dark and not see the awful creature that … Continue reading →

Quotes from Kelli Jae Baeli

I'm good at relationships but relationships aren't good at me.

Politics Quotes

"People feel removed from sexism. 'I'm not a sexist, but I'm not a feminist.' They think there's this fuzzy middle ground. There's no fuzzy middle ground. You either believe that women are people or you don't. It's that simple." (Joss Whedon)

Quotes for Writers

Writing is a fairly lonely business unless you invite people in to watch you do it, which is often distracting and then you have to ask them to leave. ~ Marc Lawrence

Word of the Day

reconditeREK-uhn-dyt adjective: Difficult to understand; abstruse.

Favorite Quotes

Religion has convinced people that there’s an invisible man, living in the sky, who watches everything you do every minute of every day. And the invisible man has a list of ten specific things he doesn’t want you to do. And if you do any of these things, he will send you to a special place, of burning and fire and smoke and torture and anguish for you to live forever, and suffer and burn and scream until the end of time. But he loves you. He loves you and he needs money.
~ George Carlin

For the first time in 7 years, I am not #DoomScrolling, but #HopeScrolling. I finally feel the tide has changed into a #BlueWave and the traitors are going to pay for all their criming. What about you? Are you more hopeful now?

Have you heard Marco has lost his lead?

Move out-of-the-way Marco!

You’ve proven your allegiance is to Donald Trump not the American people.

How about a system that:

Recognizes us as people. Not consumers.

Recognizes Earth as a complex living system. Not a resource.

Climate crisis, global warming, I think a picture is sometimes worth a thousand words. We need more, many more trees and reforestation and the protection of the remaining forests.💚🌳🌱🌲🍀🌿☘️🌴💚
