Two 2020 Mantras:
Adapt or die, Vote or die

Posted on May 18, 2020 by Kelli Jae BaeliMay 18, 2020

ADAPT OR DIE. That’s the new mantra. Our world has changed, and don’t you believe for a hot minute the fairy tale that things will go back to “normal.” First, they haven’t been “normal” for the last three-plus years. Second, there is no way they ever will, because too much has changed, and there are things that SHOULD CHANGE. This is a flashpoint. A pivotal point in our history. We can take the opportunity now to implement all those things that got bogged down in various sociopolitical quicksands, and create a brighter future for us all. Or we can fuck … Continue reading →

An electrical meltdown looms: how can we avert disaster?:
Keith Harary

Posted on June 5, 2019 by Kelli Jae BaeliSeptember 11, 2020

by Keith Harary You might find your car dying on the freeway while other vehicles around you lose control and crash. You might see the lights going out in your city, or glimpse an airplane falling out of the sky. You’ve been in a blackout before but this one is different. In critical facilities across the country, experts predict that it is only a matter of time before the electrical infrastructure holding society together undergoes catastrophic failure. According to the most recent report of the United States Congressional Commission appointed to assess the risk, published July 2017, we face the … Continue reading →

72 Virgins With a Side of Levity

Posted on March 20, 2008 by Kelli Jae BaeliDecember 6, 2011

It is common knowledge that the terrorists who steered the planes into the Twin Towers on September 11th, did so believing that they would be rewarded in the afterlife with 72 Virgins. Nowhere in the Koran does it say that martyrs will be given 72 virgins in the afterlife. Nor is the Rapture mentioned anywhere in the Christian Bible. The rapture was invented by a preacher in the 19th century, and just became popularized by the nature of Memes* and how they are spread. Just like with fundamentalist Christians, some Muslims have found a way to mistranslate and even invent … Continue reading →

Quotes from Kelli Jae Baeli

"I'm delightful, unless you're a religious zealot, and then I'm your worst nightmare."

Politics Quotes

"People feel removed from sexism. 'I'm not a sexist, but I'm not a feminist.' They think there's this fuzzy middle ground. There's no fuzzy middle ground. You either believe that women are people or you don't. It's that simple." (Joss Whedon)

I was really wrong about Biden before the SC primary. His cabinet picks, policy positions, public statements and decisive actions grounded in justice and equity over the first 6 days of his presidency prove that he means business and is clearly the right leader for these times.
