New Release: Circling Uranus

Kelli Jae Baeli Posted on August 30, 2017 by Kelli Jae BaeliAugust 31, 2017

5.0 out of 5 starsBrilliant!!!!!! ByThe old one!on August 30, 2017 Kuddos to Ms. Baeli! This story is fantastic. Talk about covering some ground (or space) in a short book—this is a prime example of brilliant writing. Science Fic—yes. Les/fic—somewhat. Adventure—yes. Homesteading–yes. Perseverance—-yes. Bravery—yes. Humor—yes. I liked Story but it was Shrtz that really grabbed me—-and can she ever “grab”! I enjoyed he references to “Clan of the Cave Bear” because it is one of my all time favorite series. I also thought the POTUS anagram was exceptionally well done. If you have any trepidation about reading this—-just go for … Continue reading →

Hybrid Methodology

Kelli Jae Baeli Posted on December 20, 2013 by Kelli Jae BaeliAugust 26, 2015

(and 3 New Books for the Holidays) I have just completed three books, and am going to make my deadline to get them out for holiday sales. One is a standalone novel in the Crime/Vigilante vein: Another Justice. One is the 5th in the AKA Investigations Series, titled, Also Known as Sleepy Cat Peak, and the other is an anthology of Bold Erotic Stories called The Speed of Dark. The Vigilante one was difficult, in many ways, the erotic anthology, I had been writing in between other projects for some time now; and I was surprised and thrilled that the … Continue reading →

Muse Recovery & Descriptive Prose

Kelli Jae Baeli Posted on November 27, 2013 by Kelli Jae BaeliAugust 26, 2015

{dusting off the blog}. It’s been a while since my last entry. I was busy with moving back from New Zealand to Denver area, to prepare a life for me and my Sweetie, and we have of course been missing each other desperately, and spending lots of time online Skyping and Typing. And I had to get settled for a while, so I can work out the other plans on the horizon. I am currently residing in an extended stay suite and will probably be here for a while, so i have been trying to climb back on the writing-horse … Continue reading →

Scribe’s Melancholia, Literary Mind-Expansion & 50 Shades of Grape

Kelli Jae Baeli Posted on June 3, 2013 by Kelli Jae BaeliSeptember 9, 2017

I’m in a bit of a funk, a tizzy, a doldrum (take your pick) about writing at the moment. Call it Scribe’s Melancholia. I’m having to seriously consider ignoring my book-marketing, because it’s so time-consuming and takes me away from what I’m really supposed to be doing–writing (Hello). Back to old-school, where writers were sequestered in a dark room with a candle and their muses, and never had to actually market themselves as a product, nor deal with their creations after they were delivered to the publisher. Further, it’s impossible to predict what people will buy anymore. And as far … Continue reading →

REVIEW of ARMCHAIR DETECTIVE from Terry at Affinity eBooks. Armchair Detective An AKA Investigations Book Amateur unlicensed Private Detective, Jobeth O’Brien, is living on the breadline, she’s not even keeping her head above water. Excerpt from Armchair Detective

Kelli Jae Baeli Posted on August 5, 2012 by Kelli Jae BaeliMarch 7, 2013

…..I had the prepaid cell phone on the seat beside me. Huxley had provided that so he could keep in touch with me, and in case I had some emergency and needed to call him. It was a source of embarrassment for me that I didn’t have something as fundamental as a cell phone, but Huxley seemed to understand, and displayed no judgment on it. Until now, I saw little reason to have one. Who would I call? I kept to myself and didn’t have any real friends here. …..Next to the cell phone, lay the .45 caliber Ruger SP-101. … Continue reading →

Random Act of Blindness: “witty, hot, intelligent”

Kelli Jae Baeli Posted on July 30, 2012 by Kelli Jae BaeliMarch 7, 2013

5.0 out of 5 stars Another work of art from this fantastic author May 12, 2012 By Tessa Format:Kindle Edition Another great book from this author. I think i liked this one more than ‘armchair detective’, and i loved that one. This book is well rounded and packed with drama. I wasn’t sure i’d like it at first, as i was foolish enough to think the author was going to take the common route of having the suspicious blond turn out to be evil and wreak havoc on our protagonist. So, i spent the first part of the book on … Continue reading →

Sexuality in Fiction

Kelli Jae Baeli Posted on April 22, 2012 by Kelli Jae BaeliSeptember 19, 2017

I have been criticized for the inclusion of erotic content in my books, and while I make no apologies for this, perhaps it does bear some explanation for those who wish to know. Sexuality is an integral part of who we are as human beings. Call it a biological imperative, that through evolution, sexuality has been refined into the embracing of pleasure as a component of our healthy existence. It’s disingenuous, then, to leave it out of books and stories about the human condition. I always include sexual aspects in my writing for that reason. If it’s also titillating, then … Continue reading →

Kelli Jae Baeli Posted on February 26, 2012 by Kelli Jae BaeliMay 29, 2014

from Trustplaces: Erotica for Women Who Love Women I could not post stories from this collection, as they would be much too EROTIC for a blog. You’ll have to buy the book. ;^)     Sobbing, you relinquish the bricks of your fear, the mortar of your self-loathing, and draw me inside you, clenching and stumbling, crying out in abject possession, boiling in your own passion, falling from an infinite sky.

Also Known as DNA (Reviews & Excerpt)

Kelli Jae Baeli Posted on December 7, 2011 by Kelli Jae BaeliMay 3, 2018

REVIEWS for Also Known As DNA (Book 2 in the AKA Investigations Series) “After reading Armchair Detective,  the first in the AKA Investigations series, I didn’t think Baeli could top herself. But damned if she didn’t write another outstanding book!  She is definitely no one-hit-wonder.  Kelli Jae Baeli is able to engage a reader in a way that most writers can only dream of. Compelling, sometimes hysterically funny, snappy dialogue, 3 dimensional characters you fall in love with, and a plot that pulls you along as if you are tethered to an unforgiving rope. You are cheating yourself if … Continue reading →

"Baeli is at the top of her game" (Also Known as DNA review)

Kelli Jae Baeli Posted on August 2, 2011 by Kelli Jae BaeliDecember 13, 2015

5.0 out of 5 stars Exciting and Satisfying – A great Read!, August 1, 2011 “I thoroughly enjoyed the first book in this series so when I sat down to read this one I was sure I was in for a treat. And I was right. This book features the two main characters from the first book, this time ensconced in a different city and getting on with the job of being happy and working as Private Investigators. This time however, two more, very interesting and appealing characters are added to the mix and the narrative swaps easily between each … Continue reading →

Quotes from Kelli Jae Baeli

"If those you wish to share a life with, only insert you into their lives between other people and other things, I suggest you realize that you are not a comma."

Politics Quotes

"People feel removed from sexism. 'I'm not a sexist, but I'm not a feminist.' They think there's this fuzzy middle ground. There's no fuzzy middle ground. You either believe that women are people or you don't. It's that simple." (Joss Whedon)

Quotes for Writers

“If you tell the reader that Bull Beezley is a brutal-faced, loose-lipped bully, with snake’s blood in his veins, the reader’s reaction may be, ‘Oh, yeah!’ But if you show the reader Bull Beezley raking the bloodied flanks of his weary, sweat-encrusted pony, and flogging the tottering, red-eyed animal with a quirt, or have him booting in the protruding ribs of a starved mongrel and, boy, the reader believes!”

Word of the Day

roman a clef roh-MAHN-ah-KLAY A novel in which actual people and places are disguised as fictional characters.

The US Govt cannot steal a passport. Passports are the property of the government. (Read your passport's fine print. (Title 22 CFR Section 51.9)) Passports are issued providing us the privilege to travel. Pro tip: When you are a flight risk, you lose that privilege.

Maybe we need to set up some immigration system for those who wish to leave the southern states.

Dark53ShadesOfFruitKace🌈@FruitKace

Serious questions : What is the point of people on the left who happen to live in a “blue” state right now wanting southern states to secede? 1) What is ur point? 2) Why would u wanna throw away the majority of Black ppl & LGBTQ+ people? 3) How is this mindset any diff than GOP?
