Day of the Turkeys

Posted on April 1, 2017 by Kelli Jae BaeliAugust 5, 2017

For our first wedding anniversary, Melissa and I went to Onyx cave in Eureka Springs. Heading out, we were, as usual, watching for good pictures, our cameras at the ready, as I steered the Avalanche (whom we lovingly call Ava Lanche, as in French style Launch-SHAY. She is like another one of our pets.) Just down the road on Highway 23, we stopped to take photos of a tree full of turkey vultures. Creepy and wonderful. This was balanced by a precious little bluebird Melissa captured nearby. But not a turkey bluebird. We were starving, but thought we’d just stop … Continue reading →

Policing the Police

Posted on September 25, 2016 by Kelli Jae BaeliSeptember 26, 2016

UPDATE: see end of this essay for my updated remarks after learning new information…. Few things are black and white, unless you’re talking about racism. In regard to gun violence and police shootings, there are solid arguments on either side of this contentious issue which tells me once again that the truth is most often found in the middle and that extremism of any kind is both dangerous and counterproductive. Right out of the chute, let me say that I know there are good cops out there. In fact, I believe that MOST cops are honorable, compassionate people who really … Continue reading →

Pooly Fall is now #1 bestseller!

Posted on June 18, 2016 by Kelli Jae BaeliSeptember 10, 2020

Woo hoo!  Pooly Fall is now a #1 bestseller in its category on Amazon! Thanks to all my readers for making it so. In this new offering, the author blends her most popular characters into one storyline, making this a segue into the next book in each series. “What happens when you mix a small town sheriff’s department with writers, private eyes, paleontologists, and witches? Maybe this. The AKA Investigations team have a new tour bus, and on their maiden voyage, pleasure turns to business when two deputies fall victim to a heinous crime. Meanwhile, the forces of darkness and … Continue reading →

Pooly Fall After Words

Posted on June 14, 2016 by Kelli Jae BaeliSeptember 10, 2020

Just ordered the print proof for Pooly Fall (Cross-Pollination #1). The digital copy is already at #3 on Amazon–a bestseller! It’s available NOW. Go to https://www.amazon.com/Pooly-Fall-Cross-Pollin…/…/B01GZWBJBA Below, is the After Words for Pooly Fall. After Words Most of my followers/readers know that I have been in recovery from Adrenal Exhaustion since returning from New Zealand in January, 2015. This has had a detrimental effect on my productivity, and on the day-to-day composition quality of my work. Writing well has become much more difficult. But I keep trudging away, trying not to think about how my usual write-a-book-every-two-to-four-months is not currently … Continue reading →

Muse Recovery & Descriptive Prose

Posted on November 27, 2013 by Kelli Jae BaeliAugust 26, 2015

{dusting off the blog}. It’s been a while since my last entry. I was busy with moving back from New Zealand to Denver area, to prepare a life for me and my Sweetie, and we have of course been missing each other desperately, and spending lots of time online Skyping and Typing. And I had to get settled for a while, so I can work out the other plans on the horizon. I am currently residing in an extended stay suite and will probably be here for a while, so i have been trying to climb back on the writing-horse … Continue reading →

Curse of Cache La Poudre (novella)

Posted on February 7, 2013 by Kelli Jae BaeliMarch 5, 2013

My new novella. Danica and Rikki have missed their plane, which couldn’t be worse news because now they might just miss their own wedding. When a pilot of a small plane offers to fly them there himself, they jump at the chance; after all, the man swears he has one short stop to deliver supplies to a ranger station in Cache la Poudre, then it’s clear skies all the way. The only trouble is, the stop along the way turns into a destination all of its own, when the pilot, telling the women they’re his cargo, delivers them into the … Continue reading →

Lunacy Factor: Make My Day (Excerpt)

Posted on January 23, 2013 by Kelli Jae BaeliJanuary 26, 2013

excerpt from Also Known As Rising & Falling ( AKA Investigations Series, Book 4) Ginger had stepped outside to make sure that Payne Hollister left the premises. She wished she could have arrested him, but the crime had been so long ago, and there was no case to prosecute. Date rape, sadly, was a commonplace occurrence, and more often than not, left unreported. Checking on Phoebe again before she had to leave for her late-shift, Ginger went down to the apartment to change, Izzy joining her. Officer Appreciation Day was not what it sounded like. No parades, no award ceremonies. … Continue reading →

Prequels, Sequels, & Spinoffs

Posted on November 24, 2012 by Kelli Jae BaeliAugust 26, 2015

Syzygy. Amazingly, the only English word with three Y’s also happens to describe a rare astronomical event involving three heavenly bodies. A syzygy is the alignment of three celestial bodies in a straight line… On December 3, 2012, Saturn, Venus & Mercury will align. On that same night, 3 women align to see that justice is done. Ponzi Bonnet thought she had found the perfect husband. A psychologist could certainly understand her damage. But her suspicion of infidelity turns out to be something far worse. Far more sinister. And he had to be stopped. This new book I’m working on–and … Continue reading →

Excerpt from Supernatural Hypocrisy: The Cognitive Dissonance of a God Cosmology by Kelli Jae Baeli   “Twelve Jews were brutally murdered, huge numbers maimed, and many Jewish women were raped. Two million rubles worth  of property was destroyed.” ~ Lawrence Kelleman   Isn’t Christmas a wonderful time of year? Review As You Were by Kelli Jae Baeli Singer/songwriter Tru Morgan is totally in love with her live in girl friend Brittany (Brit) Jabot. Together they share a wonderful home on Red Mountain, Colorado. Their lives are idyllic, filled with their dreams, romantic nights and  riding their beloved horses in a fairy tale, snowy setting. Book 2 of the AKA Investigations series ~ 1 ~ Ceremonial Tarp & Dangle   I’m hanging upside down, wrapped in tarp, like some retarded Houdini. How did this happen? Well, it all started with me, on the way to my car after a close call. Back to minding my own business. I always mind my own business because I know there are plenty of other people out there who will mind it for me, if I let them, and I don’t feel they’re more qualified to fuck up my life than I am. Quotes from Kelli Jae Baeli

"We are in dire need of Instant Spine Powder. Most journalists need to grow one. Many voters need to grow one. Some Democrats need to grow one. All GOP need to have theirs severed."

Politics Quotes

"People feel removed from sexism. 'I'm not a sexist, but I'm not a feminist.' They think there's this fuzzy middle ground. There's no fuzzy middle ground. You either believe that women are people or you don't. It's that simple." (Joss Whedon)
