Jumping from the idea of power, directly into a powerful position, is often the seedling that overgrows into a sort of Kudzu of Corruption. All due respect, Mr A, this is not your A-game.

Continue reading →From blog-idea archives…. On one of those insipid questions sites, someone asked, “If something happened to Earth, would you move to another planet?” A few underlying fallacies here. First, if something happened to Earth, you wouldn’t have that choice, so the whole construct of that question falls apart at the beginning. Second, this reasoning is like driving your car until it runs out of gas or breaks down, and then shopping for another one, instead of just maintaining the vehicle properly. Third, were we not dependent on fossil fuels, we would not be in a battle against climate change, and … Continue reading →
{dusting off the blog}. It’s been a while since my last entry. I was busy with moving back from New Zealand to Denver area, to prepare a life for me and my Sweetie, and we have of course been missing each other desperately, and spending lots of time online Skyping and Typing. And I had to get settled for a while, so I can work out the other plans on the horizon. I am currently residing in an extended stay suite and will probably be here for a while, so i have been trying to climb back on the writing-horse … Continue reading →
In a sign-meme on Facebook recently, there was a quote by Ronald Reagan: “I do not believe in taking away the right of the citizen for sporting, for hunting and so forth, or for home defense. But I do believe that an AK-47, a machine gun, is not a sporting weapon or needed for defense of a home.” ~Ronald Reagan, in a speech at his 78th birthday celebration in Los Angeles on February 6, 1989. KG MacGregor makes all salient points on this, in her blog Baby, You Can Drive My Gun when suggests using driving laws as a template … Continue reading →
As writers and lifetime curious learners, Justice Harlow and I often have discussions about human nature and what-if scenarios. She proposed this one, and neither of us have been able to come up with a clever solution. Maybe there isn’t one. Maybe it’s also about defining what “Solution” means. This is a delicious dilemma, because it’s so hard to decide how to choose…. This situation comes up a lot when women are hunting in the woods…if they are alone or separated from those they know. (that’s why you have to dress like a man when you hunt). THE HUNTER’S CONUNDRUM … Continue reading →
Recently i was presented with an ethical dilemma which i initially found troublesome due to its lack of a clear path of reaction for me as an ethical person. The situation, in a nutshell, was this: During a visit at my home from a female friend, she came out to me as a lesbian, and confessed her attraction to me, and i was at once surprised and confused. I hadn’t ever thought she saw me in a romantic way. That was not the dilemma. I felt like she put me on the spot, and i had little time to consider … Continue reading →
In anticipation of an upcoming Ethical Dilemma, i am striving to prepare myself for a choice i might have to make. I want to make the choice that gives an accurate impression of who I am; and who I am is someone who wants to be ethical, evolved, yet not at all an oil pan for the machinations of the morally corrupt. Here’s the situation: I live in a small town, where all your actions can affect how you are viewed, your ability to exist in that town, or do business, or simply live in harmony; and that view can … Continue reading →
