Furiously Happy:
My brain hungered for humor. Was absolutely famished for fun.

Kelli Jae Baeli Posted on August 24, 2020 by Kelli Jae BaeliSeptember 11, 2020

I am very picky about the books I read, and it’s hard to find anything that doesn’t either piss me off or bore me. That might just be a product of having been an Indie Author, honing her craft for 30 years, or maybe it’s just me being too damn critical. But I never had problems in my younger years. Like say, my twenties and before. But then, I didn’t write my first book until I was 26. So maybe it really is that being an author affects my ability to enjoy reading other authors that aren’t top-notch. Garbage in, … Continue reading →

The Trump Hypothesis

Kelli Jae Baeli Posted on January 26, 2016 by Kelli Jae BaeliJanuary 26, 2016

How did this happen? How did a man like Donald Trump find himself in the running for the highest office in the land? The inevitability of this quagmire is predicated on the nature of the man himself. Initially, I believe he just enjoyed the attention he was getting. No surprise for a megalomaniac and narcissist. His usual bloviating in the realm of politics just happened to strike a nerve with the appropriately marginalized hate-mongers, and the situation grew exponentially like a virus. The more his ego was stroked, the more he got drawn into the vortex of the political   process. … Continue reading →

Space Invader

Kelli Jae Baeli Posted on January 8, 2012 by Kelli Jae BaeliJuly 1, 2012

[Blast from the past–from April 8, 2004] It started out with me on my way to the grocery store, having awakened with no coffee in the house-a tragedy all on its own. I thought of that little coffeeshop down the street and thought maybe I’d stop in to check it out, so I brought what i lovingly refer to as my Tippi Tap Typer just in case. Roscoe’s Music and Espresso Cafe was a tiny establishment, but intriguing. It was time I tried to get out of the house a little and use my new toy in a different environment. … Continue reading →

Creativity, Intelligence & Depressive Realism

Kelli Jae Baeli Posted on December 26, 2011 by Kelli Jae BaeliJune 30, 2012

From a Facebook post I made, a thought-provoking subject emerged. Jae Baeli : “Happiness in intelligent people is the rarest thing I know.” ~ Ernest Hemingway Tina Harada likes this. Amanda Gulledge I frowned when I read that so I would feel more intelligent. Candace Lynn Breaux Is that why I am unhappy so much of the time? LOL Jae Baeli LOL. Amanda–you crack me up. Candy–probably, yes. Victoria Bard love it…so true! Sandi Partee hmmm…so does that mean I’m not intelligent? Cause I’m happy as a lark! LOL! Vamoosing

Kelli Jae Baeli Posted on March 29, 2011 by Kelli Jae BaeliMarch 11, 2013

Suspended my Netflix account. Still packing, desperately needing boxes. Downstairs, I pulled up everything in that storage room, which was the contents brought so far from storage when I actually thought I was going to be living here permanently, and her mother had finally moved, so I could do that. But only after we had ripped up the carpet down there and cleaned the unbelievable nastiness her mother lived in. bleach fumes, up and down stairs, aching body. I realized I would have to leave some things behind because it wouldn’t fit in my car or in storage, and I … Continue reading →

Birthday Bash

Kelli Jae Baeli Posted on March 19, 2011 by Kelli Jae BaeliMarch 19, 2011

Retro-post 18March Stealing some time, here. Too much to tell. mainly, on the 12th, the day before my birthday, we had probably the worst episode to date. D. lost it completely. She swiped all the stuff from the coffee table, the end table, smashed a bunch of liquor bottles, threw her new bong across the room into the wall, breaking it. She sat and screamed over and over at the top of her lungs. I got scared she was suicidal, and i went into the bedroom to check the .38 in my drawer–it was already unloaded. I suppose she did … Continue reading →

I Don’t Keep Hoardly Anything

Kelli Jae Baeli Posted on March 26, 2008 by Kelli Jae BaeliMarch 8, 2013

….Looking at the Hoard Mentality Every so often, when I’m doing Spring cleaning, or having guests over I want to impress, I look around and think: Hark! I might be mental. I think I’m a hoarder. I’m reorganizing and cleaning, and everywhere I have things that need a place to go, and then I ask myself, why do I have so many things? I know it is my lack mentality. I did without, and was always broke my whole life, and so now it’s a habit to hang onto things just in case. Every time I had let go of … Continue reading →

Kelli Jae Baeli Posted on December 22, 2007 by Kelli Jae BaeliMarch 6, 2013

Last night i received a mysterious email. hello…. you might want to ask SP about her suicide attempt in Jan., it is public record as the sheriff was involved. an unstable woman who will emotionally attach to you and never let you go…… just a heads up from one who knows. Awfully hard to let that one go. I wrote back: . Oh my God. That never came up in our conversations. Can I ask who you are and how you know? Have we met? I would appreciate talking with you about this, if you will allow me. ———————————————– She … Continue reading →

Quotes from Kelli Jae Baeli

"I did not forget, I just misplaced it in my head."

Politics Quotes

"People feel removed from sexism. 'I'm not a sexist, but I'm not a feminist.' They think there's this fuzzy middle ground. There's no fuzzy middle ground. You either believe that women are people or you don't. It's that simple." (Joss Whedon)

Quotes for Writers

—Elmore Leonard

Word of the Day

ineffablein-eff-uh-bull Incapable of being expressed or described in words, inexpressible, ineffable joy. Not to be spoken because of its sacredness, unutterable.

Favorite Quotes

There are lots of would-be censors out there, and although they may have different agendas, they all want basically the same thing: for you to see the world they see… or to at least shut up about what you do see that’s different. They are the agents of the status quo. ~Stephen King

The US Govt cannot steal a passport. Passports are the property of the government. (Read your passport's fine print. (Title 22 CFR Section 51.9)) Passports are issued providing us the privilege to travel. Pro tip: When you are a flight risk, you lose that privilege.

Maybe we need to set up some immigration system for those who wish to leave the southern states.

Dark53ShadesOfFruitKace🌈@FruitKace

Serious questions : What is the point of people on the left who happen to live in a “blue” state right now wanting southern states to secede? 1) What is ur point? 2) Why would u wanna throw away the majority of Black ppl & LGBTQ+ people? 3) How is this mindset any diff than GOP?
