If a Woodchuck Could Chuck YOU.

Posted on November 28, 2011 by Kelli Jae BaeliMarch 11, 2013

Was meeting a friend at a local pub I like a lot, even though it’s often noisy as hell, and I picked out a booth to wait for my friend to arrive. The waitress gave me a glare when I sat down at the table that still had the paid ticket and the dirty dishes. I had never had a rude waitress there, so gave her the benefit of the doubt. Maybe she wasn’t looking at me. Then it took her a full five minutes to get over there and clean the table off, and I wondered. When I tried … Continue reading →

Throwing Bullets

Posted on November 26, 2011 by Kelli Jae BaeliDecember 26, 2011

My best friend, Justi, and I were talking about knives and axes, as weapons.  (I know, but we often have strange conversations with little memory of exactly how the subject came up). Anyway, she liked the idea of using them as weapons –of throwing an axe at someone who was attacking her. And as usual added, “Don’t you?” I said no, I don’t want to get that close to someone who is trying to kill me. She said, “You don’t have to get close, it’s an axe. You can just throw it at them.” I deftly spotting the flaw in … Continue reading →

Enough about you

Posted on June 30, 2009 by Kelli Jae BaeliJune 30, 2009

I’ve been in a really positive place lately because everything is going so well, and I am on schedule for my move to Colorado. It’s 33 more days!! Yea! Things are going my way, and if you are a regular reader, you know that it’s cause for celebration. Anyway, just because I’m in a good space, doesn’t mean i don’t still notice some of those little niggling things that operate like a tack in my shoe. Here’s a niggling niggler: when you are on the phone with someone, many times over a series of days or weeks, and they never … Continue reading →

On the Heels of…

Posted on June 20, 2009 by Kelli Jae BaeliMarch 5, 2013

I had a marathon conversation last night with an ex from 10 years ago; and reconnected with her (Terra), via something she came across in my blog. The last half of the conversation created a feeling of great discomfort for me–both then, and this morning. My dreams were filled with people from the past, and anxiety tinted the start of my day. I was aware that in this phone conversation, I had slipped back into old habits and patterns of response and emotion. Our conversation was triggering me like a pack of firecrackers. She is, at the moment, inextricably … Continue reading →

Shopping for Banishment

Posted on June 4, 2009 by Kelli Jae BaeliJune 4, 2009

My friend Georgie said, “I thought about you in HEB the other night — shopping with you. Made myself giggle.” “Oh I’m sure we’d get kicked out of a store.” “Just a little kick.” “No, banished.” “Why?” “Because I tend to steal other people’s shopping carts, after they’ve filled them up and then I argue with them–that they haven’t paid for it yet, it’s not theirs, and I like it, so I’m taking it.” She’s laughing. “But I haven’t done that in a long time,” I added. “I’m gonna have to wear some Depends,” Georgie said. “Yeah! Maybe I’ll steal … Continue reading →

Brain Sex

Posted on February 15, 2009 by Kelli Jae BaeliMarch 10, 2013

For the first time in a long time, I feel that there might just be better things on the horizon for me. I had a phenomenal 6+ HOUR conversation last night on the phone, and it made me so happy to have such great rapport with someone. Communication is vital to me, and last night was a validation of why it’s such an important part of my life. I have always enjoyed what i call “brain sex”–that is, engaging someone intellectually in a way that is so satisfying and inspiring, that you feel some chemical in your brain has been … Continue reading →

Sullied Pajamas-REDUX (2 of 5)

Posted on December 21, 2007 by Kelli Jae BaeliDecember 21, 2007

She called me. (what i was thinking during her initial “preface” is in small red letters) “I’m a horribly romantic person by nature, and i just can’t help it…the biggest thrill in my success is sharing that–and not just with those i am romantically inclined toward. I make a lot of money and i give a lot away…being able to do good with it–that’s what it’s for. I want you to know that before i ever came to Eureka and met you in the lobby of the hotel, that i never thought you were a Dean-Koontz-rich novelist…(I’m sure you could … Continue reading →

Quotes from Kelli Jae Baeli

"Depression is boring. I don't like it and I don't like telling anyone about it. We all know what it is. But I just don't want it to define me. There are other, more pleasant definitions of me. I am only having trouble accessing those at the moment."

Politics Quotes

"People feel removed from sexism. 'I'm not a sexist, but I'm not a feminist.' They think there's this fuzzy middle ground. There's no fuzzy middle ground. You either believe that women are people or you don't. It's that simple." (Joss Whedon)

Impeachment improves insurrection immunity. Idolizing invasive intentions invalidates important intervention. Investigation is imperative. Interrogate illicit insider involvement. Impunity is impossible in incited insurgence incidences. It's illegal! Incarceration Inevitable!

It appears that the Rolex that Joe Biden wore to the inauguration used to belong to Beau. If this is true, the Biden family deserves a major apology from the New York Times.

We need a war room.

Let's form a coalition to fight the disinfo and smears that will be lobbed at Biden and Harris.

I have a place for us to gather and make plans on how to push back against the bullshit coming down the pike.

Let's not be caught unaware.

Thoughts?
