Colonizing vs. Philosophizing

Posted on August 4, 2017 by Kelli Jae BaeliOctober 15, 2018

From blog-idea archives…. On one of those insipid questions sites, someone asked,  “If something happened to Earth, would you move to another planet?” A few underlying fallacies here. First, if something happened to Earth, you wouldn’t have that choice, so the whole construct of that question falls apart at the beginning. Second, this reasoning is like driving your car until it runs out of gas or breaks down, and then shopping for another one, instead of just maintaining the vehicle properly. Third, were we not dependent on fossil fuels, we would not be in a battle against climate change, and … Continue reading →

Oh Victory in Earworms (A Melodious Malady)

Posted on June 25, 2013 by Kelli Jae BaeliMay 3, 2018

Kelli Jae Baeli #IronyoftheDay I’m an atheist, & yet I woke up with a HYMN stuck in my head. I’d pray to God to make it stop, but then, well. You know. Pasted from <https://www.facebook.com/jaebaeli> Yeah, that was my status update this morning. It’s bad enough, when you just get a regular song stuck in your head, but for an ATHEIST to get a HYMN lodged up in that looping track? Not just the insipid sycophantic melody those tunes always have, but the actual content of the lyrics, the sentiments inherent in hymnal/gospel music, et al; it’s sandpaper against every … Continue reading →

Along Came a Spider

Posted on April 16, 2013 by Kelli Jae BaeliMay 3, 2018

It’s not like I didn’t expect to hear from the usual suspects in regard to my 6-volume book, God on a Stick (An exhaustive investigation into Christianity and why I decided it made no damn sense) formerly titled, Supernatural Hypocrisy: The Cognitive Dissonance of a God Cosmology But even now, I can be surprised by the variations of hubris and ignorance, even among those who claim no religion. My Facebook friend, Jackie LeMerand, posted on her wall that she had just purchased my book, and then, shall we say, Along Came a Spider.   Jackie LaMerand Yesterday at 9:13am · Kelli‘s … Continue reading →

Condemned to Repeat it?

Posted on April 4, 2013 by Kelli Jae BaeliApril 4, 2013

Today, I woke, sat down to my first cup of coffee and found a headline that gave me the sensation of a lead weight in my stomach. North Carolina May Declare Official State Religion Under New Bill Republican North Carolina state legislators have proposed allowing an official state religion in a measure that would declare the state exempt from the Constitution and court rulings. The bill, filed Monday by two GOP lawmakers from Rowan County and backed by nine other Republicans, says each state “is sovereign” and courts cannot block a state “from making laws respecting an establishment of religion.” … Continue reading →

Thatness & Whatness – being snarky

Posted on April 1, 2013 by Kelli Jae BaeliApril 1, 2013

Bound to happen….don’t know why I’m surprised. I’ve been publishing excerpts intended to market Supernatural Hypocrisy. Someone just gave me a pissy little review on one of them a while ago, so I went to his site and left one of my own. Amazing what people do. His review was on Thatness & Whatness, and only said “Review by: Brent Adams on March 31, 2013 : star Not impressed. Doesn’t seem well thought out or researched.” So I looked at his wordpress site, and it was one of those generic, newly made ones with all the defaults still up, and … Continue reading →

1st Review of Jael.In a Tent. With a Spike.

Posted on April 1, 2013 by Kelli Jae BaeliApril 13, 2014

Recently, I’ve been trying to market my 6 volume magnum opus, Supernatural Hypocrisy: The Cognitive Dissonance of a God Cosmology, as I am in the unique position of being a relatively small fish in a big pond, where that material is concerned. Since I am no Sam Harris or Richard Dawkins or Christopher Hitchens, my name alone will not sell a book–especially one like this.I do mention this in the Author’s Note: I am not a Bible scholar or a Ph.D.–wielding lecturer, nor a scientist. I was one semester away from a degree in Professional Writing & Editing, and intend … Continue reading →

E Pluribus Unum, dammit

Posted on November 28, 2012 by Kelli Jae BaeliMay 3, 2018

I’m sorry, but I just had to post this. One of my friends on Facebook (who believes in god and I suppose considers herself a christian) posted this sign, which she apparently found inspiring. As this sort of thing continues to piss me off, I had to comment on it: Jae Baeli What FAILED was religion insinuating and then forcing itself into our government. The sign above just represents ANOTHER ABSOLUTELY FALSE belief. The country was NOT founded on In God We Trust or God or religion or CHristian principles… This was adopted as the motto of the US in … Continue reading →

Excerpt from Supernatural Hypocrisy: The Cognitive Dissonance of a God Cosmology by Kelli Jae Baeli   “Twelve Jews were brutally murdered, huge numbers maimed, and many Jewish women were raped. Two million rubles worth  of property was destroyed.” ~ Lawrence Kelleman   Isn’t Christmas a wonderful time of year? The Handmaid’s Tale: An American Dream Gone Awry

Posted on November 7, 2012 by Kelli Jae BaeliNovember 7, 2012

Throughout our recent election process, I kept thinking about how a Romney presidency would begin to remind me of The Handmaid’s Tale, the dystopian novel by Margaret Atwood. It reminded me that I wrote a paper on this book years ago in college. I don’t seem to have it compiled in any of my published anthologies, so i thought i would post it here. It’s a timely piece of literature still, which does not speak well of our republic. The Tea-Party is just the sort of organization to bring this dystopian theocracy to fruition. Hopefully those things are back on … Continue reading →

Clogging the Feed

Dear Facebookers: I will try not to clog the feed. I will try to post things with some time in between, but FIRST: I am posting to MY PAGE. If you don’t want what i post in your feed, it’s simple to just click the arrow and remove my posts from YOUR FEED. That’s called Choice. It’s a great concept. SECOND: please know, that i am not posting a bunch of flower pictures. Let’s just get our priorities clear, shall we? Posted on March 17, 2012 by Kelli Jae BaeliDecember 13, 2015

Excerpt from Supernatural Hypocrisy: The Cognitive Dissonance of a God Cosmology “Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day; teach a man to fish and he will eat for a lifetime; give a man religion and he will die praying for a fish.” ~author unknown* *addition to this quote: “Or he’ll kill because another guy has a fish he wants.” In seeking that rational approach to the question of God, and humanity’s patently blind belief in him, I considered many things. Among them, mental illness of some sort, like epilepsy or Dissociative Identity Disorder, or even … Continue reading →

Space Invader

Posted on January 8, 2012 by Kelli Jae BaeliJuly 1, 2012

[Blast from the past–from April 8, 2004] It started out with me on my way to the grocery store, having awakened with no coffee in the house-a tragedy all on its own. I thought of that little coffeeshop down the street and thought maybe I’d stop in to check it out, so I brought what i lovingly refer to as my Tippi Tap Typer just in case. Roscoe’s Music and Espresso Cafe was a tiny establishment, but intriguing. It was time I tried to get out of the house a little and use my new toy in a different environment. … Continue reading →

Ignorance Revealed: Miss USA contestants on Evolution

Posted on June 23, 2011 by Kelli Jae BaeliDecember 5, 2011

The mindless regurgitation of these contestants sickens me. Most of these are stunning examples of the ignorance that still prevails in this country. Evolution is NOT a theory, in the colloquial sense. Scientific “theory” is not the same as the common definition of “theory.” That’s why I wish the scientific community would permanently change their references to it in some way, to clear up the misunderstanding. Since colloquial understanding usually RULES among the average person, we must begin to use terminology that leaves no room for erroneous interpretation. It is my contention that you are not entitled to respect or … Continue reading →

excerpt from Supernatural Hypocrisy: The Cognitive Dissonance of a God Cosmology Volume 3: Cosmology of the Bible   The Great Gilgamesh Nut Cow Or, The Great Flood Fib “There’s a huge hole in the whole Flood drama, because anything that could float or swim got away scot-free, and it was the idea to wipe out everything, He didn’t say, ‘I will kill  everything, except the floating ones and the swimming ones,  who will get out due to a loophole.’”  ~ Eddie Izzard T he story of the flood is a familiar one to most people. Quotes from Kelli Jae Baeli

"Sex is my Achilles heel. But I haven't been laid in quite a while, so it can't be my Achilles heel if I don't ever take my socks off."

Politics Quotes

"People feel removed from sexism. 'I'm not a sexist, but I'm not a feminist.' They think there's this fuzzy middle ground. There's no fuzzy middle ground. You either believe that women are people or you don't. It's that simple." (Joss Whedon)

Impeachment improves insurrection immunity. Idolizing invasive intentions invalidates important intervention. Investigation is imperative. Interrogate illicit insider involvement. Impunity is impossible in incited insurgence incidences. It's illegal! Incarceration Inevitable!
