Circling Uranus

Kelli Jae Baeli Posted on August 28, 2017 by Kelli Jae BaeliAugust 29, 2017

Done with final draft of Circling Uranus: Samegenders in Space & Elsewhere. Edit/betaread in the hand of Melissa Walker. My short story turned into a novella, and this might be Episode One, as i have ideas for future installments. The blurb isn’t written yet, but here’s the BEFORE WORDS: (at the moment) This story was inspired by the character, India Bell, of the Rain Falls series. As a ruse, she had supposedly written a science fiction book titled Circling Uranus, and it became a bestseller, much to her chagrin. It reportedly included some form of tentacle sex with an alien. I … Continue reading →

Fish Should Learn to Walk

Kelli Jae Baeli Posted on February 29, 2012 by Kelli Jae BaeliFebruary 29, 2012

I think I’ve moved past my most recent dark night of the soul. This time it took about 7 weeks. Had a couple of things go my way, though, (finding a new apartment to move to, which I love), and an online relationship deepening into intriguing and exciting possibilities….possibilities that become pissabilities…As is the trend with my life, I don’t get anything good without an addendum of aggravation or disappointment. Some reminder that no, fortune does not often smile on me and the Luck Fairies either have a millennium-old vendetta against my soul, have no GPS, or are somewhat retarded. … Continue reading →

The Great Fib

Kelli Jae Baeli Posted on April 22, 2010 by Kelli Jae BaeliMarch 4, 2013

excerpt from  Supernatural Hypocrisy:  The Cognitive Dissonance of a God Cosmology Volume 3: Cosmology of the Bible  by Kelli Jae Baeli The Great Fib There’s a huge hole in the whole Flood drama, because anything that could float or swim got away scot-free, and it was the idea to wipe out everything, He didn’t say, “I will kill everything, except the floating ones and the swimming ones, who will get out due to a loophole. ~ Eddie Izzard The story of the flood is a familiar to most people. A man is instructed by God to build a large boat … Continue reading →

NEAT But Not Reassuring

Kelli Jae Baeli Posted on November 2, 2009 by Kelli Jae BaeliNovember 2, 2009

What were you doing on February 17, 2003? Did you know that date was almost the end of the world? We narrowly missed annihilation in 2003, and few knew about it. A comet called NEAT not so neatly came close to impacting the sun. This comet was over twice the size of jupiter. A well-timed solar flare blasted it out of its trajectory orbit and so disaster was avoided. NASA’s SOHO satellite camera caught it all on video. Go here to see the video. For perspective, the thick dark line at the left bottom is the arm of a mechanism … Continue reading →

Fireworks from Space

Kelli Jae Baeli Posted on March 22, 2008 by Kelli Jae BaeliMarch 6, 2013

Scientists were thrilled to have captured images from the largest supernova explosion known to humankind. The star, named SN2006gy (SN for Super Nova, and the date it was discovered…an example of the patently droll naming conventions of astrophysicists everywhere) emitted four gamma ray bursts; the only time an event has been visible with the naked eye. The actual explosions happened before Earth was even in existence–about 7 and half billion years ago in Earth-time, which is about the same amount of time it takes any tech support person to answer your email. That should, in any case, give you an … Continue reading →

Cranky-Panted Chaos Theory

Kelli Jae Baeli Posted on February 4, 2008 by Kelli Jae BaeliFebruary 4, 2008

Okay, i know everyone has those times when they feel that the Universe is out of alignment and things are just not gellin’ like a melon, but it still causes me great consternation. I am trying to frame it differently in my head… A series of things have led to my generalized condition of CRANKY-PANTS….1) I discovered that after 6 months of trying to make a relationship work, it was doomed from the start, and then after moving on to friendship, had to endure a personal attack, (see “et tu brute” on this blog) and2) Then I discovered that this … Continue reading →

Shifting Universe

Kelli Jae Baeli Posted on December 1, 2007 by Kelli Jae BaeliDecember 1, 2007

So much can happen in so little time…I have been feeling a shifting in the Universe for several months now. I had some important decisions to make and for the most part, have made them. While my personal shifts are quite obvious–the angst of searching for something i might never find; the fear that that search necessarily engenders; the knowledge that although time is a human construct, it affects my body and i don’t want it to; the moral and ethical dilemmas that confront me regularly; the constant quest for unfettered serenity; the need to share my work coupled with the … Continue reading →

String Theory Romance

Kelli Jae Baeli Posted on November 28, 2007 by Kelli Jae BaeliNovember 28, 2007

I believe there is someone out there for everyone. More pointedly–someone out there for everyone at each stage in their life. I am not the same as I was 5 years ago, or even one year ago. I am constantly evolving. Constant evolution breeds chain reactions that reach our environment, other people, situations… Therefore, things shift. Lives re-align. I also believe that wishes and intentions are powerful. Thoughts are things. I really believe that. So if I keep focusing on what I want, I believe it will happen when and how it’s supposed to. In the meantime, I will try … Continue reading →

Quotes from Kelli Jae Baeli

"You have to be able to recognize your truths in the daylight before you can find them in the dark."

Politics Quotes

"People feel removed from sexism. 'I'm not a sexist, but I'm not a feminist.' They think there's this fuzzy middle ground. There's no fuzzy middle ground. You either believe that women are people or you don't. It's that simple." (Joss Whedon)

Have you heard Marco has lost his lead?

Move out-of-the-way Marco!

You’ve proven your allegiance is to Donald Trump not the American people.

How about a system that:

Recognizes us as people. Not consumers.

Recognizes Earth as a complex living system. Not a resource.
