No Such Thing As a Protest Vote:
In which I dare to question a non-voting professor

Posted on August 15, 2020 by Kelli Jae BaeliSeptember 20, 2020

I don’t know about you, but I’m tired of being a snowflake. It’s well and truly time for Democrats to stop whining and being precious, and Board the Blue Choo Choo. We have many changes to make, and by now, we should all agree that those changes will never be made with a corrupted party in charge. My skin may not be black, but I know what it’s like to be a minority, and to be punished for it. I’m an Indie author. A disabled veteran. I’m not just a woman, but a gay woman, married to a woman. I’m … Continue reading →

Impeachment & the Fever Dream

Posted on April 30, 2019 by Kelli Jae BaeliMay 20, 2019

Every day, now, I fight the urge to flee to wilderness, and hide until all this is over, one way or another. Election night, 2016, was devastating. It was like that carnival ride where you spin around and the floor drops out from under you. Since then, I’ve developed all sorts of health issues, including a depression I couldn’t shake. I finally had to take medication for that. Since the election, I’ve developed an interest in survival skills, in keeping a go-bag and emergency supplies “just in case.” Now, I’m not a full-fledged prepper, but I am a survivor, and … Continue reading →

Not Hysterical Idiots

Posted on October 13, 2018 by Kelli Jae BaeliAugust 15, 2020

I see clearly what is happening; many others SENSE it, even if they can’t find the words to explain it. We are at Critical Mass. Our future depends on our courage and innate goodness.

Unmoderated Moderate Attempts Moderation

Posted on August 4, 2017 by Kelli Jae BaeliMay 3, 2018

From blog ideas archive…. I got into an unplanned debate on Facebook. Most debates on Facebook are, in fact, unplanned. you know how it is. Most of the time, it begins with some innocent status update of mine, but this time, I started it by responding to something I felt needed clarification. I always feel a need to do that when i think something is being misrepresented or over-simplified. The following exchange was very thought-provoking and I agreed with many of the sensibilities of this poster, but the rub is always in the specifics, the semantics. This sort of debate is … Continue reading →

Quotes from Kelli Jae Baeli

"Since I contend that in order to believe in God, you must be either unwilling to think things through to a logical conclusion, or you must be unable to, then the very nature of religious belief negates the ability to see the discrepancy. Faith stands in opposition to logic. There is nothing inherently logical about faith, and it is upon this sword that all believers fall. ~from Supernatural Hypocrisy: The Cognitive Dissonance of a God Cosmology"

Politics Quotes

"People feel removed from sexism. 'I'm not a sexist, but I'm not a feminist.' They think there's this fuzzy middle ground. There's no fuzzy middle ground. You either believe that women are people or you don't. It's that simple." (Joss Whedon)

First, I'm not trying to give the Gov of NY any hint of a break. But the media needs to do better. Gym Jordan is still in Congress. And trump has to surrender his DNA for possible rape. Cawthorn has multiple accusers. So, why aren't they getting the same coverage?

When CPAC erected a giant, shining stage in the shape of a Nazi SS symbol at Hyatt Hotel Orlando, it was warmly welcomed. And when neo-Nazis came to plot and play for the weekend, Hyatt happily saluted them. #ByeHyatt, forever.

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer rips state GOPs: “When you lose an election in a democratic society, you update your party platform. You don’t change the rules to make it harder for opponents to vote.”
