Yes I Want to Take Your (War) Guns

Kelli Jae Baeli Posted on September 3, 2019 by Kelli Jae BaeliSeptember 3, 2019

First, I am a humanist and a liberal Democrat. I am also a military veteran. I don’t hunt, because I don’t have the heart for it, and would only do it in a survival situation. I do, however, feel better if I have a gun of some kind to protect me and mine against break-ins. (See, women are naturally like that, since we are the ones who get raped by men). I have no problem doing the gun ownership legally, and proving that I can safely own and use a firearm. Check my background. I have nothing to hide.   … Continue reading →

Tropes, Motifs and Being Meta

Kelli Jae Baeli Posted on January 15, 2016 by Kelli Jae BaeliAugust 31, 2017

Tropes, in one definition, are “devices and conventions that a writer can reasonably rely on as being present in the audience members’ minds and expectations.” There are many types, but one, in the subcategory of devices, we see quite frequently in crime shows on TV or in mystery books. There is a crime, and an investigation, and the first suspect is never the true suspect. That also gets into the Red Herring territory. For myself, I have always tried not to rely on tropes, simply because I don’t ever want the reader to easily predict what will happen. But I … Continue reading →

Happy Thanksgivoween

Kelli Jae Baeli Posted on November 29, 2013 by Kelli Jae BaeliNovember 29, 2013

NOTE: I typed in Thanksgivoween, as the title of this blog, while thumbing it into my iPhone…and the autocorrect made it Thank Gully Nig (sounds like a good title- who’s Gully Nig?–I’m sure I’ll come up with a story for that). So–Today I am thankful that I finally found the love of my life even though we can’t be together right now. I am thankful that I have a nice vehicle to provide autonomy and comfort, and a reasonably comfortable place to live, even though it’s just a lonely hotel and nothing more. I am thankful that I am able to … Continue reading →

Scribe’s Melancholia, Literary Mind-Expansion & 50 Shades of Grape

Kelli Jae Baeli Posted on June 3, 2013 by Kelli Jae BaeliSeptember 9, 2017

I’m in a bit of a funk, a tizzy, a doldrum (take your pick) about writing at the moment. Call it Scribe’s Melancholia. I’m having to seriously consider ignoring my book-marketing, because it’s so time-consuming and takes me away from what I’m really supposed to be doing–writing (Hello). Back to old-school, where writers were sequestered in a dark room with a candle and their muses, and never had to actually market themselves as a product, nor deal with their creations after they were delivered to the publisher. Further, it’s impossible to predict what people will buy anymore. And as far … Continue reading →

Gun Laws: the Truth is in the Middle

Kelli Jae Baeli Posted on March 13, 2013 by Kelli Jae BaeliMarch 13, 2013

In a sign-meme on Facebook recently, there was a quote by Ronald Reagan: “I do not believe in taking away the right of the citizen for sporting, for hunting and so forth, or for home defense. But I do believe that an AK-47, a machine gun, is not a sporting weapon or needed for defense of a home.” ~Ronald Reagan, in a speech at his 78th birthday celebration in Los Angeles on February 6, 1989. KG MacGregor makes all salient points on this, in her blog Baby, You Can Drive My Gun when suggests using driving laws as a template … Continue reading →

No More Hall-Decking for You Guys

Kelli Jae Baeli Posted on November 14, 2011 by Kelli Jae BaeliMarch 7, 2013

“Twelve Jews were brutally murdered, huge numbers maimed, and many Jewish women were raped. Two million rubles worth  of property was destroyed.” ~ Lawrence Kelleman I sn’t Christmas a wonderful time of year? Consider this:      Thus says the LORD, Do not learn the way of the nations, And do not be terrified by the signs of the Heavens, although the nations are terrified by them; For the customs of the peoples are delusion; Because it is wood cut from the forest, The work of the hands of a craftsman with a cutting tool. Cosmology of the Dark Side–Hell

Kelli Jae Baeli Posted on April 8, 2010 by Kelli Jae BaeliMarch 4, 2013

Excerpted from “Supernatural Hypocrisy: The Cognitive Dissonance of a God Cosmology” Volume 4: The Cosmology of the Dark Side by Kelli Jae Baeli Gnashing of Teeth “God says do what you wish, but make the wrong choice and you will be tortured for eternity in hell. That’s not free will. It’s like a man telling his girlfriend, do what you wish, but if you choose to leave me, I will track you down and blow your brains out. When a man says this we call him a psychopath. When god says the same we call him “loving” and build churches … Continue reading →

Shamelessly Stolen Meme Survey

Kelli Jae Baeli Posted on December 6, 2009 by Kelli Jae BaeliMarch 3, 2013

Your ex calls wanting to hangout, what do you say? By ex, I will assume you mean, ones I had a relationship with for longer than a year. Depends on who it is. Although, I have to say there are few with whom i would like to hang out…maybe the first one, but don’t see her calling after all these years…I quite thoroughly broke her heart…but i would hang out with her if she did call….and the 4th one…the one who started as girlfriend, and wound up being my best friend. What do you think about sex before marriage? This … Continue reading →

Kindred Molecules, Deja Vu, and Noosphere

Kelli Jae Baeli Posted on September 18, 2009 by Kelli Jae BaeliMarch 6, 2013

There are people we meet who seem to be immediately familiar…these familiars are somewhat vexing, in that it often doesn’t make much sense why you are drawn to certain people and feel like they are part of your molecules, somehow.Whatever that little cosmic thing is that seems to be going on somewhere under the radar…I seriously believe in the concept of Kindreds. I rarely have that sense with people, but I have been enjoying that connection with a new one–Tanya. I feel a connection with Tanya that defies logic. We haven’t seen each other in 30 years. But I have … Continue reading →

Yes There IS Something in the Water

Kelli Jae Baeli Posted on August 25, 2009 by Kelli Jae BaeliMarch 5, 2013

Another popular meme in mainstream esoteric spirituality is the buzz about the Japanese guy who takes pictures of water crystals at a microscopic level, to prove that water responds appropriately to negative and positive input.Dr. Masuru Emoto is enjoying the proceeds from his book, The Hidden Messages in Water. Mr. Emoto’s book reveals photographs of water crystals which apparently respond to certain words positively or negatively in correlation with the nature of the words. He contends that not only are thoughts things, but that these thing-thoughts can alter the shape and design of water crystals. As if water has emotion. No … Continue reading →

Kelli Jae Baeli Posted on August 25, 2009 by Kelli Jae BaeliMarch 5, 2013

The Recurrent Amnesia about Separation of Church & State excerpt from Supernatural Hypocrisy: The Cognitive Dissonance of a God Cosmology by Kelli Jae Baeli   “Democracy demands that the religiously motivated translate their concerns into universal, rather than religion-specific, values. It requires that their proposals be subject to argument, and amenable to reason.” ~ President Barack Obama CLEARLY, THE FOUNDING FATHERS intended for religion to remain separate from government, though modern Americans continue to forget about this, or twist it to their own purposes. The Intention of our Founders, and United States Constitution are clear about this matter, yet there … Continue reading →

The Stuttering Murderer Who Was God’s Bitch

Kelli Jae Baeli Posted on August 16, 2009 by Kelli Jae BaeliMay 30, 2013

Excerpt from Supernatural Hypocrisy: The Cognitive Dissonance of a God Cosmology WHILE A PHARAOH WAS ordering all male Hebrew babies killed, the mother of Moses attempted to spare his life by placing him in a basket as a three month old infant, and sending him floating down the river, where the daughter of Egyptian royalty found him and raised him. All very dramatic, but not in the least original. In fact, this story was originally a Babylonian tale about King Sargon, rendered a very long time before Moses was born. Again, this is a borrowed myth found in the bible, … Continue reading →

Quotes from Kelli Jae Baeli

"Depression is boring. I don't like it and I don't like telling anyone about it. We all know what it is. But I just don't want it to define me. There are other, more pleasant definitions of me. I am only having trouble accessing those at the moment."

Politics Quotes

"People feel removed from sexism. 'I'm not a sexist, but I'm not a feminist.' They think there's this fuzzy middle ground. There's no fuzzy middle ground. You either believe that women are people or you don't. It's that simple." (Joss Whedon)

The US Govt cannot steal a passport. Passports are the property of the government. (Read your passport's fine print. (Title 22 CFR Section 51.9)) Passports are issued providing us the privilege to travel. Pro tip: When you are a flight risk, you lose that privilege.

Maybe we need to set up some immigration system for those who wish to leave the southern states.

Dark53ShadesOfFruitKace🌈@FruitKace

Serious questions : What is the point of people on the left who happen to live in a “blue” state right now wanting southern states to secede? 1) What is ur point? 2) Why would u wanna throw away the majority of Black ppl & LGBTQ+ people? 3) How is this mindset any diff than GOP?
