ADRIFT (poem)

Kelli Jae Baeli Posted on January 15, 2015 by Kelli Jae BaeliJanuary 15, 2015

Tossed, blown off course by the storm, My skin pink from previous sunlight, I stand on the deck and imagine she is there waiting for me to reach shore If I can just glimpse her in the distance like a soothing port of call I know I’ll find my way. But when the sail lies flaccid and I am adrift in the water, I think I can hear the gurgling below, Seeping in, Weighing me down. My vessel riding low in the lapping waves. And bailing water, I ache for the succor of her embrace, The softness of her lips … Continue reading →

Reproach Beyond a Dog (poem)

Kelli Jae Baeli Posted on March 8, 2013 by Kelli Jae BaeliMarch 8, 2013

(I wrote this poem years ago, but now understand even more why this issue is such a big deal for me. As an HSP, certain stimuli is maddening to me, and the barking of a dog is probably the number one thing that will drive me insane…anyway, that issue was the inspiration for this poem. P.S. no animals were harmed in the making of this poem). from Yin & Yang: Poetry & Lyrics From Both Sides of my Disposition   Reproach Beyond A Dog A soothing ritual, nightly enacted; a process habitual, rightly exacted: book on her chest, rum tea … Continue reading →

Learning to Fly

Kelli Jae Baeli Posted on June 4, 2012 by Kelli Jae BaeliJune 15, 2012

I made this place my mistress, for lack of the proper kind I excavated acres for the love I hoped to find But all I found were bones, beneath the unseen sky The love I need’s not on the ground, I had to learn to fly

Plugging In (poem)

Kelli Jae Baeli Posted on March 10, 2012 by Kelli Jae BaeliAugust 26, 2015

I hear your voice breathless and urgent making your request. I feel my heart, thumping, jumping dancing in my chest. I cup your face, pressing into you– slow, slow– You pull me in, gasping, your lips releasing endearments into my ear.

To Sleep, Perchance To Dream (poem)

Kelli Jae Baeli Posted on March 1, 2012 by Kelli Jae BaeliMarch 1, 2012

What magic what survived the holocaust of the bitter edged sword, its flailing sparks upon the stone of US, is drawing a last breath. Seeking peace, I closed my drying eyes, and fell into the netherworld of unreal things, wished real‑ And you, with your lofty, oblivious loyalty, bent to kiss my lonely lips, And for that sharp moment all was as it had been THEN. My brain uninformed, drowsy‑ reality a stone’s throw away, but pale beside the stronger images of THEN‑ Shrouded and sealed in that trustplace, Sleep. from

Acquittal

Kelli Jae Baeli Posted on February 26, 2012 by Kelli Jae BaeliMay 29, 2014

from Trustplaces: Erotica for Women Who Love Women I could not post stories from this collection, as they would be much too EROTIC for a blog. You’ll have to buy the book. ;^)     Sobbing, you relinquish the bricks of your fear, the mortar of your self-loathing, and draw me inside you, clenching and stumbling, crying out in abject possession, boiling in your own passion, falling from an infinite sky.

Crush (poem)

Kelli Jae Baeli Posted on November 28, 2011 by Kelli Jae BaeliNovember 28, 2011

Sometimes I wonder if I’ll get through it~ this solitude foisted upon me by fate. I wonder why she doesn’t call me? Must I do everything? and nothing Even when everything feels like nothing, and nothing, everything?

Already (poem)

Kelli Jae Baeli Posted on November 28, 2011 by Kelli Jae BaeliDecember 26, 2011

I already love her mind. I already love her words. I already love the parts of herself she reveals to me in herds of raw, broken, struggling, yet completely filled vessels of hope and understanding. I’m not demanding totally sodden with angst, yet pure, unfettered, passionate, real. A bargain on hearts, today, mine’s a steal. I don’t know where this thing will go knowing, yet knowing, I cannot know wishing and hoping, that floating hope I’m holding the wrong end of the rope relating the angst of the things we do feeling connection, connection anew reaching for content, my spirit … Continue reading →

Choice Starvation (poem)

Kelli Jae Baeli Posted on February 3, 2011 by Kelli Jae BaeliDecember 8, 2011

A glimpse of perfection from stony blindness. Trembling through the tenuous tension of good and evil. Respect me, I am a person, my opinion matters. External motivations are inherently worthless Down the hatch. But it’s only cappuccino Forcing the gates of symbolism, Reflecting tender fears. I hear you calling my name grey moon above, and midnight descends with this poet’s tears.

Shadow Wings (poem)

Kelli Jae Baeli Posted on February 26, 2009 by Kelli Jae BaeliMarch 12, 2013

Shadow Wings Dress me in shadow wings Flesh blends to one race of night and void. But the shadows orchestrate the sun, Thinking of the warmth and newness of the day below galaxies of spiraling stars Riding the amplitudes of darkness, each bursting bubble an infrequent upsurge of glamorous spells Untenable and beyond comprehension.Dress me in Shadow wings Like a dragonfly who cannot produce fire Colors scintillating into the ether Weaved and flossed Moon reflections reflecting. Nothing soothes the night.

Novelist (poem)

Kelli Jae Baeli Posted on February 26, 2009 by Kelli Jae BaeliFebruary 26, 2009

Novelist Rain gently pats the roofOffering wet perceptionAnd the ink blots spreadInto blurred patternsThis is reality.Keys, the new paintbrush of linguistic imaginationAttuned to the heartbeat of silence,The ecstasy of zero.A thousand screams, a thousand pains–for a moment, the horizonlines with warriors for someone else’s war.The past is just the pastForever with me washed with the blue tint of winter.

Fat Crowds (poem)

Kelli Jae Baeli Posted on February 7, 2008 by Kelli Jae BaeliNovember 28, 2011

I sit at the bar, cigarette in hand, And worlds beyond: Sultry skies mixed with sea hues of grey and blue My brain sleeps, yet in that moment I fuck desire. Heed the writing on the walls. As fat crowds fill the streets; Searching for what? I hold autumn close, squeezing her ass, a pitiful tangle of dreams gather; plastic gadgets for plastic people, use your plastic card, Where the inner self meets a soulless void bickering lips suck champagne. And fat crowds drain from the streets, doors slamming. My hot breath fights against the wind. I walk the promenade, … Continue reading →

Back to Sweetness (poem)

Kelli Jae Baeli Posted on February 4, 2008 by Kelli Jae BaeliNovember 28, 2011

Just you, unresponsive bickering, in your T-shirt and panties. Can you be satisfied? Gliding in, I shove you hard onto the bed. The sky cracks as if slashed by a knife. Let it feast on the air while i feast on you. Binding you with hidden fetters I produce my scissors, cut your cotton off, Partaking of worlds both visible and veiled, Undiluted and unpolluted, you growl at me as I conquer you and your angry fountain, lead you back to love, bring you into sweetness again.

Quotes from Kelli Jae Baeli

"Once a Christian becomes entrenched in the faith-ditch, he can only march in one direction."

Politics Quotes

"People feel removed from sexism. 'I'm not a sexist, but I'm not a feminist.' They think there's this fuzzy middle ground. There's no fuzzy middle ground. You either believe that women are people or you don't. It's that simple." (Joss Whedon)
