Also Known as Armchair Detective

Posted on May 12, 2018 by Kelli Jae BaeliMay 12, 2018

“…you are in for a fantastic journey with colorful characters. Worth every dime spent and so very enjoyable. Kelli Jae Baeli is a brilliant author. “ “This is a fast-paced very enjoyable mystery/thriller … The story and the two main characters are well done, fleshed out and credible.” Wayne Spiceland rated it it was amazing  ·  review of another edition I read the first of Baeli’s AKA Investigations series almost two years ago, which was before I did much at all in the way of reviewing. I’m currently a bit over halfway through Book 3, which naturally brought to mind Book 1, and … Continue reading →

I really related to the characters. Plus it gave me a good idea of what my wife goes through dealing with me and my sensitivities. Thank you for writing it Kelli Jae Baeli.   Kezzles reviewed Saturation Point: A Novella  Delightful and complex December 16, 2016 A compelling novella, well written, interesting characters with no cardboard cutouts. Pooly Fall (Cross-Pollination#1)

Posted on June 13, 2016 by Kelli Jae BaeliFebruary 28, 2018

Print version available soon! 5.0 out of 5 stars Pooly Fall: Masterfully weaving three tales into one epic adventure By cathie1245 on June 17, 2016 To say that I’m in geek heaven over this story is an understatement. It’s always fun to have guest appearances of characters show up in another story but Cross Pollination #1 takes this to level expert in the art of weaving multiple story lines into one cohesive and riveting adventure. And the difference is in the details. Every single character has already been well established in their original series but we are still learning … Continue reading →

Posted on July 16, 2015 by Kelli Jae BaeliFebruary 28, 2018

“It was hard to focus on what she said. The blood. It was just everywhere. All over her. All over the floor in the hallway….” EXCERPTS: It was hard to focus on what she said. The blood. It was just everywhere. All over her. All over the floor in the hallway. Chloe was talking. I heard other voices. Heard the Coke machine. The rifling of papers at the nurse’s station. A distant siren. My eyes on the blood. But Chloe. I couldn’t hear Chloe. “What? What?” I said, blinking my way back to her eyes. Chloe still clutched her … Continue reading →

Pariahs & Prodigals (Rain Falls #3)

Posted on July 16, 2015 by Kelli Jae BaeliJanuary 30, 2018

EXCERPT: Meeting My Maker & Other Kitchen Disasters The Krups KM-7000. It ground its own beans. It made perfectly calibrated coffee. It was, without question the best Christmas present she’d ever received. Bless Tegan. Bless her cute little blonde head full of wonderful gift ideas. India stood in front of the divine contraption, having added distilled water to the reservoir, loaded the organic cone filter, poured in the Costa Rica Peaberry beans, and listened to the machine create the freshly pulverized, aromatic grounds, begin the brewing cycle. Her nostrils flared with hedonistic satisfaction at the scent, … Continue reading →

In Absentia (Rain Falls #2)

Posted on March 29, 2014 by Kelli Jae BaeliOctober 30, 2017

EXCERPT: The entire morning consisted of class instruction, a great deal of hand-out materials, and questions and answers. By the mid-day hour, things shifted to hands-on training, and that’s when the instructor brought out George, the resuscitation dummy. All class members were expected to demonstrate their understanding of mouth to mouth and chest compression techniques. She had read the materials, and had paid attention while the instructor showed them the proper procedure. Then she watched them all present their skills in varying degrees of precision. Mostly, demonstrating the lack thereof, she thought. Her hubris was challenged … Continue reading →

Powerful Things

Posted on March 28, 2014 by Kelli Jae BaeliJune 17, 2018

EXCERPT: Sivon stood examining the spot in the trees. It was all covered over, now, with fresh growth, though that portion of the ground seemed out of place. Different, somehow. Alien. She smirked. Turning, she scanned the field leading to the farmhouse, her smile gone as she considered what she was charged to do. There had to be another way. Maybe she could reason with him. She started up the incline toward the house, the tightening in her gut intensifying as she neared the structure. She distracted herself with more idle thoughts. Concentrated on her steps, and the … Continue reading →

Also Known as Syzygy (AKA Investigations #3)

Posted on March 28, 2014 by Kelli Jae BaeliFebruary 28, 2018

“Kelli Jae Baeli proves herself not just a fine storyteller, but one who’s highly skilled at her craft, both artist and artisan…It’s rare to these days to find a writer whose style is technically so nearly perfect, but who’s also a damned good storyteller… I would apply that comment to Baeli.”  ~From Have Books Will Review, review of Also Known as Syzygy   This book sprouted from AKA Investigations, Book 3, when I discovered that the minor characters didn’t want to be minor. They sort of commandeered the book and began writing one of their own. So I pulled … Continue reading →

EXCERPTS   “The parking lot was just around the building, and in it, my Escalade. The trip to freedom was interrupted by a powerful odor and the sensation of someone’s arms around me. It wasn’t a hug.” When I woke up in the abandoned factory, I was of course unaware that it was an abandoned factory because I couldn’t see through the tarp that had cocooned me, as I dangled in the air by my feet. What would Jim Rockford do? I don’t think my fictional TV idol had ever been hung upside down with a tarp around him. So … Continue reading →

Michele reviewed Rain Falls (Rain Falls series #1): (A Romantic Dramedy)  First book by Baeli and it won’t be my last April 20, 2017 This was the first book that I read by Jae Baeli and I was instantly hooked. The author delivers engaging characters, witty humor, a cat named Quasar, many obstacles for the characters to overcome, and sexual tension. I thoroughly enjoyed the book and will be reading many more by this author.        In the gorgeous cabin on the outskirts of the small tourist town of Rain Falls, Colorado, the two women find themselves struggling with temptation and … Continue reading →

Also Known as Rising & Falling (AKA Investigations #4)

Posted on February 21, 2014 by Kelli Jae BaeliFebruary 28, 2018

“In a  unique departure from the conventions of most serial fiction, this novel depicts the events of the previous book, Also Known as Syzygy, from the point of view of  the women of The AKA Investigations team” This book is the same storyline, during the same period of time, as the one in Also Known as Syzygy, except it’s from the point of view of the primary characters in the AKA Investigations team. It was the only way I felt I could tell this story, since Syzygy seemed to have a life of its own with the … Continue reading →

Quotes from Kelli Jae Baeli

"I have ridges on my fingernails, worse now, since not writing as much--maybe there's a correlation between not typing and the oxygen content in my fingertips."

Politics Quotes

"People feel removed from sexism. 'I'm not a sexist, but I'm not a feminist.' They think there's this fuzzy middle ground. There's no fuzzy middle ground. You either believe that women are people or you don't. It's that simple." (Joss Whedon)

Since they work for the government, they should be forced to, or be relieved of duty.

Nearly 40% of US Marines are declining Covid-19 vaccinations. Unfortunate that those who protect us refuse to protect themselves. And I am sure they are mostly men.

Agreed. And while we're at it, can we stop saying "Sex with a minor" and instead state this accurately as Statutory Rape?

Rabbi Michael Adam Latz #BlackLivesMatter@RavMABAY

Look folks-I get the Matt Gaetz jokes about using Venmo to buy minor purchases seem clever. But they aren’t. He’s charged with sex trafficking CHILDREN. That’s a crime-not a joke. Don’t minimize these horrific accusations-Our kids deserve better from all of us.

I urge everyone to dispose of their used face masks properly and responsibly. Never discard them on the street. When possible, cut the strings on the masks. Wild birds and other animals are getting entangled in discarded masks, and many have died as a result.
