The Girls in the Band

Posted on September 17, 2017 by Kelli Jae BaeliNovember 17, 2017

5.0 out of 5 starsDon’t Wonder About This Book, Give it a Read, It Delivers the Bread By Micheleon September 27, 2017 Format: Kindle Edition I am a big fan of Kelli Jae Baeli’s writing and this book is no exception. She delivers a solid characterization of several members of an all girl band, detailing their hopes, fears, struggles, their lives prior to the band, their relationships, and their future as bandmates. Quotes from Kelli Jae Baeli

"America is also the only industrialized nation to have a majority adhere to monotheistic religions. Coincidence? I don't think so. Religion has played a role throughout history in the oppression and dismissal of those deemed lesser. One has only to read about religious wars or Hitler's Germany, to know this."

Politics Quotes

"People feel removed from sexism. 'I'm not a sexist, but I'm not a feminist.' They think there's this fuzzy middle ground. There's no fuzzy middle ground. You either believe that women are people or you don't. It's that simple." (Joss Whedon)

Since they work for the government, they should be forced to, or be relieved of duty.

Nearly 40% of US Marines are declining Covid-19 vaccinations. Unfortunate that those who protect us refuse to protect themselves. And I am sure they are mostly men.

Agreed. And while we're at it, can we stop saying "Sex with a minor" and instead state this accurately as Statutory Rape?

Rabbi Michael Adam Latz #BlackLivesMatter@RavMABAY

Look folks-I get the Matt Gaetz jokes about using Venmo to buy minor purchases seem clever. But they aren’t. He’s charged with sex trafficking CHILDREN. That’s a crime-not a joke. Don’t minimize these horrific accusations-Our kids deserve better from all of us.

Looks like Brett Kavanaugh’s hideous name is trending again, so it’s that time to ask: who paid all of pervert Kavanaugh’s debts thus purchasing themselves a SCOTUS seat?

When I announced I was running for Governor of Virginia, people said they weren’t ready for a Black woman Governor. They told me to wait my turn. But I disagree. I think Virginia is ready. I think America is ready. If you’re ready too, please retweet this far and wide.

I urge everyone to dispose of their used face masks properly and responsibly. Never discard them on the street. When possible, cut the strings on the masks. Wild birds and other animals are getting entangled in discarded masks, and many have died as a result.
