The Girls in the Band

Posted on September 17, 2017 by Kelli Jae BaeliNovember 17, 2017

5.0 out of 5 starsDon’t Wonder About This Book, Give it a Read, It Delivers the Bread By Micheleon September 27, 2017 Format: Kindle Edition I am a big fan of Kelli Jae Baeli’s writing and this book is no exception. She delivers a solid characterization of several members of an all girl band, detailing their hopes, fears, struggles, their lives prior to the band, their relationships, and their future as bandmates. Each band member as well as their manager is well developed and add something to the story. Ever present is Baeli’s trademark sense of humor with several parts … Continue reading →

Baggage

Posted on February 20, 2014 by Kelli Jae BaeliMay 12, 2018

Dava reviewed Baggage  I so enjoy this author’s books July 7, 2015 I so enjoy this author’s books. This is a rolling stormy wonderfully paced book with Ms. Baeli’s usual well developed characters who I loved and/or hated. There are many twists and surprises in this story and while a hurricane throws them together their histories and presence sets them apart. A great read – thanks again! cathie1245 reviewed Baggage  Baggage carries likeable characters and a well-written story with a little help from Hurrican Katrina. May 18, 2015 Several characters are thrown together by fate and with a little help from Hurricane Katrina. Quotes from Kelli Jae Baeli

"If I had two nickels to rub together I'd have to choose between buying something to eat and making a fire."

Politics Quotes

"People feel removed from sexism. 'I'm not a sexist, but I'm not a feminist.' They think there's this fuzzy middle ground. There's no fuzzy middle ground. You either believe that women are people or you don't. It's that simple." (Joss Whedon)

I understand that Scissors can beat Paper, and I get how Rock can beat Scissors, but there's no fucking way Paper can beat Rock. Paper is supposed to magically wrap around Rock leaving it immobile? Why the hell can't paper do this to scissors? Screw scissors, why can't paper do this to people? Why aren't sheets of college ruled notebook paper constantly suffocating student as they attempt to take notes in class? I'll tell you why, because paper can't beat anybody, a rock would tear that shit up in 2 seconds. When I play rock/ paper/ scissors, I always choose rock. Then when somebody claims to have beaten me with their paper I can punch them in the face with my already clenched fist and say, oh shit, I'm sorry, I thought paper would protect you, you asshole. ~author unknown

Americans need official reassurance that if Trump issues strange, unwarranted orders to United States military or tries to grant himself unwarranted emergency Presidential powers or asks for unwarranted martial law, such orders will be thwarted to protect our democracy.
