I’m Mercury’s Bitch

Kelli Jae Baeli Posted on August 17, 2017 by Kelli Jae BaeliNovember 3, 2020

Last night, I spent three solid hours just trying to play a game to relax. But the game wouldn’t download. then it would download but wouldn’t work. Then my screen would jiggle and shake and look like nuclear radiation was nearby. Then every conceivable blockade would happen, to keep me from getting to that relaxing gameplay. I said, “Honey? Is Mercury in retrograde? “Yes, actually.” “I’ll be damned.” I’ve never given astrological powers much credence. It’s hard for me to imagine how the constellations and the heavenly bodies have any bearing on how my life goes–how clumsy I am, how … Continue reading →

Full-Contact Leaf-Blowing

Kelli Jae Baeli Posted on December 14, 2015 by Kelli Jae BaeliAugust 5, 2017

Sore today. Took a fall while leaf-blowing on the back patio yesterday. My foot slid out of my nurse’s clog, (yes I know, not outside yard-working shoes, but hey, they’re insanely comfortable) and I bent my ankle over, then fell, landing on my opposite knee, and both hands on the patio stones. The leaf blower landed in the pond. My knee, my foot/ankle, both wrists and even my left shoulder joint (a recurring issue) were screwed. (It’s funny, how something like that happens so fast, you sort of wake up on the ground and have to use your memory to … Continue reading →

Cherryot Gymnastics

Kelli Jae Baeli Posted on August 30, 2009 by Kelli Jae BaeliAugust 30, 2009

Storage trip update from Saturday. So, I’m standing on top of my Cherryot, 1 applying bungees to things I wish I didn’t own, and I’m being careful to step only on the reinforced areas of the roof, and avoid the sunroof entirely, when my foot slipped. Now, I was wearing my Sketchers which are really comfortable to take my nightly walks in. But I discovered, rudely, that they don’t have um…much…traction. At least not on top of the Cherryot. So in that surreal, slow-motion movie moment kind of way, I began to fall, feet first, sliding down the side…not so … Continue reading →

Slippity Doo Dah

Kelli Jae Baeli Posted on June 4, 2009 by Kelli Jae BaeliJune 4, 2009

(or, “I Don’t Love my OTHER Shoes”) I’ve always known that certain footwear was dangerous. The most common culprit in my mind is the high heel-pump-stiletto family of shoes. Aside from the usual hazard of balancing on something so precarious as a shoe with a peg under it (although Pirate-amputees seemed to have mastered it), or in the case of a stiletto, (essentially walking on a PENCIL), there is a profound discomfort to be had in the awkward position of the foot, and the disfiguration that takes place as a woman gets older while partaking of this footwear. Have you … Continue reading →

Quotes from Kelli Jae Baeli

"I need to take my car to the shop--my blinkers only work half the time."

Politics Quotes

"People feel removed from sexism. 'I'm not a sexist, but I'm not a feminist.' They think there's this fuzzy middle ground. There's no fuzzy middle ground. You either believe that women are people or you don't. It's that simple." (Joss Whedon)

I hope this monster is dying, but i noticed a long time ago that earlier pictures of him looked different, but i thought it was plastic surgery. He has not looked like this picture for years. https://twitter.com/brundle_fly/status/1524056076219387905

Sure hope someone creates an alternative to Twitter, because it's now well and truly fucked with Elon Musk at the helm.
