Two 2020 Mantras:
Adapt or die, Vote or die

Kelli Jae Baeli Posted on May 18, 2020 by Kelli Jae BaeliMay 18, 2020

ADAPT OR DIE. That’s the new mantra. Our world has changed, and don’t you believe for a hot minute the fairy tale that things will go back to “normal.” First, they haven’t been “normal” for the last three-plus years. Second, there is no way they ever will, because too much has changed, and there are things that SHOULD CHANGE. This is a flashpoint. A pivotal point in our history. We can take the opportunity now to implement all those things that got bogged down in various sociopolitical quicksands, and create a brighter future for us all. Or we can fuck … Continue reading →

Yes I Want to Take Your (War) Guns

Kelli Jae Baeli Posted on September 3, 2019 by Kelli Jae BaeliSeptember 3, 2019

First, I am a humanist and a liberal Democrat. I am also a military veteran. I don’t hunt, because I don’t have the heart for it, and would only do it in a survival situation. I do, however, feel better if I have a gun of some kind to protect me and mine against break-ins. (See, women are naturally like that, since we are the ones who get raped by men). I have no problem doing the gun ownership legally, and proving that I can safely own and use a firearm. Check my background. I have nothing to hide.   … Continue reading →

Gun Control vs. Second Amendment

Kelli Jae Baeli Posted on October 3, 2017 by Kelli Jae BaeliSeptember 10, 2020

When I was in the military, I could disassemble an M-16A1 and put it back together. I qualified as Expert, only one shot away from Hawkeye, (due to a miscommunication by the Drill Sergeant with the tower). I appreciated and admired the design and power of this weapon. But as a civilian vet, now, do I need an automatic weapon? No. No, I do not. And neither does any other civilian. These guns are for killing. They are for killing other human beings. IN WAR. They are not toys. Neither should they be a civic statement of outrage or bitterness … Continue reading →

Quotes from Kelli Jae Baeli

"Good communication is less about saying what you mean, and more about defining what you say."

Politics Quotes

"People feel removed from sexism. 'I'm not a sexist, but I'm not a feminist.' They think there's this fuzzy middle ground. There's no fuzzy middle ground. You either believe that women are people or you don't. It's that simple." (Joss Whedon)

Quotes for Writers

If you would not be forgotten as soon as you are dead, either write things worth reading or do things worth writing. ~ Benjamin Franklin

Word of the Day

noblesse oblige no-bless-oh-BLEEJ The moral obligation of those of high birth, powerful social position, etc. To act with honor, kindliness, generosity, etc. Benevolent, honorable behavior considered to be the responsibility of persons of high birth or rank. The belief that the wealthy and privileged are obliged to help those less fortunate. From French, meaning nobility obligates

Favorite Quotes

Nurture an appetite for being puzzled, for being confused, indeed for being openly stupid, and that--despite what you may think--is very difficult. We all know the cliche that a little knowledge can be a dangerous thing. It is also true that a lot of knowledge can be a dangerous thing as well. Use your ignorance as well as your knowledge for creative means.
~ Lee C. Bollinger

GA may be #1 place for biz, but we’re #48 in mental health, #2 in uninsured. #1 in maternal mortality & new HIV cases, #9 in gun violence. For too many, Kemp’s Georgia doesn’t include them. Why? Because #KempDoesntCare

As Governor, I’ll lead #OneGeorgia that’s #1 for all of us.
