Goldilocks & the BlueWho Dilemma:
A Way to Think About the 2020 Candidates

Kelli Jae Baeli Posted on February 12, 2020 by Kelli Jae BaeliSeptember 11, 2020

It’s obvious we have an unprecedented amount of indecision about who to choose for the Democratic candidate. This undecided #BlueWho thing really matters, and deserves some thoughtful and no-nonsense scrutiny. I believe that most of the undecided voters have the same antecedent. If we can’t know whether we have the Senate, too, we can’t gauge which candidate we can safely vote for, in order to unseat the Orange Little Dicktater. We no longer have the luxury of treating out political candidates like rock stars. We have to get over the idea that they have to be perfect, or check all … Continue reading →

Impeachment & the Fever Dream

Kelli Jae Baeli Posted on April 30, 2019 by Kelli Jae BaeliMay 20, 2019

Every day, now, I fight the urge to flee to wilderness, and hide until all this is over, one way or another. Election night, 2016, was devastating. It was like that carnival ride where you spin around and the floor drops out from under you. Since then, I’ve developed all sorts of health issues, including a depression I couldn’t shake. I finally had to take medication for that. Since the election, I’ve developed an interest in survival skills, in keeping a go-bag and emergency supplies “just in case.” Now, I’m not a full-fledged prepper, but I am a survivor, and … Continue reading →

Avenatti AveNAUGHTY AveNOTti

Kelli Jae Baeli Posted on October 15, 2018 by Kelli Jae BaeliMay 20, 2019

Jumping from the idea of power, directly into a powerful position, is often the seedling that overgrows into a sort of Kudzu of Corruption. All due respect, Mr A, this is not your A-game.

Clogging the Feed

Kelli Jae Baeli Posted on November 2, 2012 by Kelli Jae BaeliMarch 4, 2013

Dear Facebookers: I will try not to clog the feed. I will try to post things with some time in between, but FIRST: I am posting to MY PAGE. If you don’t want what i post in your feed, it’s simple to just click the arrow and remove my posts from YOUR FEED. That’s called Choice. It’s a great concept. SECOND: please know, that i am not posting a bunch of flower pictures. Let’s just get our priorities clear, shall we? I am posting information that i feel voters should know in order to make an informed decision. And I … Continue reading →

Obama wins. Us too, maybe.

Kelli Jae Baeli Posted on November 5, 2008 by Kelli Jae BaeliNovember 5, 2008

There will be thousands of people writing and commenting about this momentous event in history, but of course, I still have to offer my part. The most surprising thing to me, beyond the overwhelming nature of Barak Obama being elected, is that when that announcement went up on the CNN screen: Barak Obama Elected President …I began to cry. The reaction surprised me. I didn’t even cry when Bill Clinton was elected and I was so thrilled when that happened. I think there are things underneath this, running strong in many of us. It represents the chance for the nation … Continue reading →

2nd Presidential Debate

Kelli Jae Baeli Posted on October 9, 2008 by Kelli Jae BaeliMarch 4, 2013

Okay, so I watched the 2nd Presidential Debate yesterday (recorded it). Although some pundits thought it was boring and less interesting that the first one, i beg to differ. I thought it was MORE interesting. Now, granted, the information both candidates put forth was not new, but i thought the value of it was to be found in not only the manner in which it was imparted, but in body language and attitude. First of all, I felt that Obama was clear, articulate, and largely effective in imparting his vision for his presidency. McCain on the other hand, came off … Continue reading →

Burning Bush

Kelli Jae Baeli Posted on December 28, 2007 by Kelli Jae BaeliDecember 28, 2007

In a time where the issues of the day are more pressing than ever, such as Al Gore’s prescient warnings about global warning and global climate changes, the American people have been duped and distracted by the specter of weapons of mass destruction. Haven’t we already established that this war-cry has been found both premature and erroneous? While nuclear armament is an issue with which we should reckon, don’t you reckon it didn’t have to be strong-armed into a nation-defining war? Bush is by far the worst president in American history. He has systematically turned the world against America, lied, … Continue reading →

Hillary for President…..in 2012

Kelli Jae Baeli Posted on December 13, 2006 by Kelli Jae BaeliDecember 13, 2006

I would vote for Hillary. But I am convinced she won’t win. As a matter of principal, i might vote for her, even knowing that, just to send the message. But i am fearful that it won’t matter, especially if Bush’s cronies have access to the machines again. Even though i believe Hillary Clinton is qualified, capable and would do great things for this country, I don’t think this society is ready for a female president. I’m ready for one, but i don’t think John Q. Public is. Hillary’s path to the White House (or should i say, “Back” to … Continue reading →

Quotes from Kelli Jae Baeli

"Regarding my relationships with lingerie--I can't pull off a Teddy. Well, actually, I can. If I realized at any point that I'm wearing one, I pull it off."

Politics Quotes

"People feel removed from sexism. 'I'm not a sexist, but I'm not a feminist.' They think there's this fuzzy middle ground. There's no fuzzy middle ground. You either believe that women are people or you don't. It's that simple." (Joss Whedon)

Quotes for Writers

Really, in the end, the only thing that can make you a writer is the person that you are, the intensity of your feeling, the honesty of your vision, the unsentimental acknowledgment of the endless interest of the life around and within you. Virtually nobody can help you deliberately--many people will help you unintentionally. ~ Santha Rama Rau

Word of the Day

noumenonNEW-muh-non In the philosophy of Kant, an object as it is in itself independent of the mind, as opposed to a phenomenon. Also called thing-in-itself.

Favorite Quotes

“In religion and politics people’s beliefs and convictions are in almost every case gotten at second-hand, and without examination, from authorities who have not themselves examined the questions at issue but have taken them at second-hand from other non-examiners, whose opinions about them were not worth a brass farthing.” ~ Mark Twain
