All Bets Are Off: After Words:
Thoughts on my current post-apocalyptic novel.

Kelli Jae Baeli Posted on May 15, 2019 by Kelli Jae BaeliSeptember 11, 2020

Thoughts on my current post-apocalyptic novel. Available May 2019 My paranoia began with the trump administration. Many Americans felt immediately in peril when that dangerous orange buffoon stole the election. I had heard the buzzword infrastructure, and warnings about how it was failing, but until the last few years, I wasn’t even sure what infrastructure really was. I thought it just meant roads and bridges. When I learned that it also included, most crucially, our utility/electrical grids, and then when there were reports that Russian hackers had infiltrated our grid and were just perched there, able to attack at any … Continue reading →

The Girls in the Band

Kelli Jae Baeli Posted on September 17, 2017 by Kelli Jae BaeliMarch 18, 2022

“This goofy crew of lesbian rockers led by Jane and narrated through her sarcastic/judgy point of view are a lovable mishmash of unique personalities and habits that miraculously gel together. Their screwball adventures will have your belly aching from uproarious laughter, but are tempered from time to time by solemn moments when the going gets tough.” ~Amazon Reviewer What do you get when you mix a repressed mechanical engineer, a freelance technical writer, an obsessive, wise-cracking 911 operator, an incense-burning celibate accountant, and a legally blind corn-fed country girl? A wild ride through the world of a local chick-band, that’s … Continue reading →

Run the Risk:
A Shamrock Cove romance

Kelli Jae Baeli Posted on September 17, 2016 by Kelli Jae BaeliMarch 18, 2022

“…it’s the art of storytelling here that elevates this book above the others and the ability to toss in such a clever plot twist and still have the pieces fall into a cohesive story. Strong characters, witty dialogue, and an intriguing romance will keep you entertained throughout.” ~Amazon Review   On her 50th birthday, in the throes of her first hot flash, Sierra Kipling gets a phone call. The father she has shunned for 23 years has died, leaving her his bar, The Risk, along with a slew of bad feelings. Unhappy in her law career and life in general, … Continue reading →

Pooly Fall:
(Cross-Pollination)

Kelli Jae Baeli Posted on June 13, 2016 by Kelli Jae BaeliMarch 17, 2022

India and Tegan are settling into their lives together, but some strange and perilous events have them both baffled. The AKA Investigations team have a new tour bus, and on their maiden voyage, pleasure turns to business when two deputies fall victim to a heinous crime.   Excerpt: His eyes fell to the package on the floor of the culvert, his voice echoing in the concrete tunnel. “What have you done?” Roman hissed. “What you won’t.” Roman squinted at his sister. “Again, I thought we were supposed to be sharing the helm.” She shoved her hands in the pockets of her patchwork leather coat. “That ship has sailed.” Flippant as always. “So is this your version of a coup? Shall I graciously step down and leave you to your own devices?” “Probably wise.” “Rayna!” he scolded. “You’re not suited to leadership, dear brother. Your spine is … Continue reading →

It was just everywhere. All over her. All over the floor in the hallway. Chloe was talking. I heard other voices. Heard the Coke machine. The rifling of papers at the nurse’s station. A distant siren. My eyes on the blood. But Chloe. I couldn’t hear Chloe. “What? What?” I said, blinking my way back to her eyes. Chloe still clutched … Continue reading →

Rain Falls (Rain Falls #1)

Kelli Jae Baeli Posted on March 27, 2014 by Kelli Jae BaeliMarch 20, 2022

#1 bestseller in 3 categories. “If I laugh any harder or more I am going to end up in the hospital. I feel like I can’t breath half the time.” “You can tell within a few pages when the writing is a cut above and it is here. The characters are well-developed, interesting, and very appealing. The dialogue is excellent and the building of the relationship feels realistic not contrived.” India Bell is looking for a regular writing gig to supplement her royalties. She ends up with two assignments – one, to interview up-and-coming lesbian romance writer Tegan Lowry, and … Continue reading →

Plethora

Kelli Jae Baeli Posted on February 20, 2014 by Kelli Jae BaeliMarch 17, 2022

The old one! reviewed Plethora  This is like an adult fairy tale September 25, 2016 This is like an adult fairy tale. It is so absorbing and yet so realistic. There was a “plethora” of wonderful characters and I loved them all. I really liked Brenna and Micah but absolutely loved Tilly. Ms. Baeli has such a fantastic way of making the women so real that I found myself wanting to be friends with them all. The same quirky sense of humor found in this author’s books surely abounds in this one. So, in a nut shell, don’t hesitate to read this if … Continue reading →

Kelli Jae Baeli Posted on February 20, 2014 by Kelli Jae BaeliMarch 19, 2022

“Ms. Baeli has quickly become one of my “must read” authors. I was continually kept guessing right up to the end.” Burlington, Vermont was a city known for its near-nonexistent murder rate. So when bodies begin to appear along with a mysterious note and a humiliating gesture from the killer, local authorities scramble to discover who is responsible. A complicated series of events points to Amy Jane Spenser as the prime suspect. She is troubled by sleep deprivation and frequent memory lapses. Her job as a paramedic feeds her compulsion to help people, but ultimately only renders her a crippled … Continue reading →

Quotes from Kelli Jae Baeli

remember that we writers can’t please everyone, we can only write the stories we feel compelled to write, and hope there are those who are interested in reading them. And more importantly, writing well is hard work; we pour ourselves into the job, and we have feelings, just like you do.

Politics Quotes

"People feel removed from sexism. 'I'm not a sexist, but I'm not a feminist.' They think there's this fuzzy middle ground. There's no fuzzy middle ground. You either believe that women are people or you don't. It's that simple." (Joss Whedon)
