Apocalyptic

Kelli Jae Baeli Posted on March 17, 2023 by Kelli Jae BaeliMarch 17, 2023

Now that All Bets Are Off (Apocalyptic Women, Snug Haven #1) is done and released, I was thinking about how much my novels have been a precursor to the types of books I’m focused on writing at the moment (in my solo endeavors.) I’ve been calling them FemFic, hoping this moniker will take off as a hashtag and as a legit category in popular fiction. (I wrote another blog about this here.) Don’t get me started on my views about our current political landscape, and the need for women-empowerment. Fiction is a staunch ally in social change, and I intend … Continue reading →

All Bets Are Off: After Words:
Thoughts on my current post-apocalyptic novel.

Kelli Jae Baeli Posted on May 15, 2019 by Kelli Jae BaeliSeptember 11, 2020

Thoughts on my current post-apocalyptic novel. Available May 2019 My paranoia began with the trump administration. Many Americans felt immediately in peril when that dangerous orange buffoon stole the election. I had heard the buzzword infrastructure, and warnings about how it was failing, but until the last few years, I wasn’t even sure what infrastructure really was. I thought it just meant roads and bridges. When I learned that it also included, most crucially, our utility/electrical grids, and then when there were reports that Russian hackers had infiltrated our grid and were just perched there, able to attack at any … Continue reading →

Building Character (Minocqua Duology #2):
Two clever authors, a femme fatale & a detective

Kelli Jae Baeli Posted on March 15, 2016 by Kelli Jae BaeliMarch 20, 2022

“You want to read this book not just for the plot of 2 girls backing down to no one, or the fantastic secondary characters, but because the storytelling is that good. You will be artfully immersed in the sights, the sounds, and all the characters and how they react to one another and to danger.” ~Amazon Review Indie authors Jade Winslow and Petra Davis threw caution to the wind to be together. But now caution is called for when a dark figure from Jade’s past comes calling with murder on her mind. Set against the backdrop of spring in the … Continue reading →

“It was hard to focus on what she said. The blood. It was just everywhere. All over her. All over the floor in the hallway….” EXCERPTS: It was hard to focus on what she said. The blood. It was just everywhere. All over her. All over the floor in the hallway. Chloe was talking. I heard other voices. Heard the Coke machine. The rifling of papers at the nurse’s station. A distant siren. My eyes on the blood. But Chloe. I couldn’t hear Chloe. “What? What?” I said, blinking my way back to her eyes. Chloe still clutched … Continue reading →

New Harbor Witches #1

Kelli Jae Baeli Posted on January 13, 2015 by Kelli Jae BaeliMarch 18, 2023

“An intelligent, well written story. In a refreshing departure from many ‘paranormal romances’, this book is truly well written. A combination of a page turning mystery combined with the melding of people that you want to cheer for. Treat yourself and read this book!” From an already accomplished writer, comes an engaging, sexy, and suspenseful new series about two sisters who thought they were ordinary, until they discovered they were not. Dane sparks runs a bistro and her best friend Trevor is the pseudo-chef who has tried every imaginable way to kill himself, but oddly, never succeeds. Gemma is a … Continue reading →

“Five stars. Science, smart women, and a craftily woven tale – Brilliant!!” “My mind was completely blown – several times – while reading this absolutely brilliant story. If you like science, smart women, sarcasm, wit, and a really clever story then don’t hesitate to click Buy Now. What I like most about the story, aside from the two main characters, were the possibilities that were presented regarding manipulating time, chance, and outcome. Oh, and there’s a love story, too! If I could give it more stars I would. Loved it!” ~Amazon review 150 million years ago. The Jurassic. 400 thousand … Continue reading →

Powerful Things

Kelli Jae Baeli Posted on March 28, 2014 by Kelli Jae BaeliMarch 17, 2022

EXCERPT: Sivon stood examining the spot in the trees. It was all covered over, now, with fresh growth, though that portion of the ground seemed out of place. Different, somehow. Alien. She smirked. Turning, she scanned the field leading to the farmhouse, her smile gone as she considered what she was charged to do. There had to be another way. Maybe she could reason with him. She started up the incline toward the house, the tightening in her gut intensifying as she neared the structure. She distracted herself with more idle thoughts. Concentrated on her steps, and the … Continue reading →

Kelli Jae Baeli Posted on March 28, 2014 by Kelli Jae BaeliMarch 17, 2022

“Kelli Jae Baeli proves herself not just a fine storyteller, but one who’s highly skilled at her craft, both artist and artisan. Syzygy is an entertaining and rewarding novel and a reading experience I strongly urge you not to miss.” “It would be easy for a writer to become so incensed by the prevalence in the real world of the kind of acts depicted fictionally here that her fury detracts from the story, even becomes an obsession. I’m impressed by Baeli’s even-handed treatment of these crimes in her narrative. Oh, the outrage is there, to be sure, but she never … Continue reading →

Quotes from Kelli Jae Baeli

You can't put constraints on love. Wherever you may find it, you must embrace it with your all heart, your mind, your soul. For you may never pass this way again, and if you do, love might be upon another path.

Politics Quotes

"People feel removed from sexism. 'I'm not a sexist, but I'm not a feminist.' They think there's this fuzzy middle ground. There's no fuzzy middle ground. You either believe that women are people or you don't. It's that simple." (Joss Whedon)
